Don't book exalis! It's a tour mafia! Their prices are insulting! You're contributing to their schemes by booking thru them. Go on your own instead. There's a nearby rangers office where you can get a permit to hike on your own! Yes it's true. The hike to the village is easy. After the village it gets a bit harder because of some river crossings where you may have to swim but totally doable and safe. Nothing too crazy. The cave itself is nice but obviously somewhat spoiled by the permanent presence of oxalis camp. The "guides" you encounter are extremely aggressive (mafia) but just shout back at them, stand your ground and ignore and proceed. Nature is free. Not just for the rich. And certainly not for some corrupt officials. Bring your own packraft to paddle upstream into the farther parts of the cave. Great fun!

Now tell me if you still think they are legit? Don't lie to yourself. Help overthrow these thugs and make this place...
Read moreAmazing experience getting to visit the 3rd largest known cave in the world. Absolutely huge and worth the difficult hike through leech infested forests to get there. Unless you are doing the 7 day Son Doong cave trek which is the largest cave in the world and books up 2 years in advance and costs $2000. I would recommend doing it with Oxalis Travel. Make sure you book in advance as they fill up fast and only have a limited amount of spaces on each tour and they don’t run everyday. Great camp spot with water to swim in during relaxation time. Cave toilet is interesting. Do remember anything you take in has to be brought back,...
