Hang Son Dong Cave is the largest cave in the world

Hang Son Dong Cave is a wonder of nature. This cave is located in Vietnam, with a length of 4 kilometers, a width of about 100 meters, and a height of about 240 meters.

Hang Son Dong Cave is one of a network of 150 caves that have been discovered so far, as well as a large number of caves that have yet to be discovered.

What is interesting is that this cave does not meet the specifications of other caves, such as the darkness and the fact that it contains bats and other terrifying atmospheres. On the contrary, you will not find anything of this at all. Rather, what distinguishes it is its amazing size to the extent that it contains a large forest inside it and a running river, and the exciting thing is that the humidity inside the cave is so high that the condensation of water vapor leads to the formation of what looks like clouds in the sky of the cave!!

Surprisingly, despite the huge size of these caves, but the explorers say that you do not pay attention to them unless you are directly in front of them. Discover this amazing cave in the Phong Nha-Keh Pang National Park in Vietnam, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, located in north-central Vietnam, about 500 km south of the capital, Hanoi.

It is said that it was discovered by a local man in 1991 but in 2009 the British speleologists announced their discovery of this cave.

"The World of Traveler" conveyed to you some pictures of this amazing cave. The pictures were taken by German photographer Carsten Peter in 2010, and Karsten had participated in a campaign to discover these amazing caves with the aim of documenting them scientifically and...

The largest cave in the world is Hang Son Doong Cave, located in the heart of Phong Nha-Kẻ Bàng National Park in Vietnam.

The cave is one of the most spectacular sights in Southeast Asia. It is 200 meters high, 150 meters wide, and the cave is estimated to be 5 km long.

Thanks to all the factors of climate, weather, sunlight and humidity, a complete ecosystem has been created right inside the cave, with the typical characteristics of tropical forests.

The cave was discovered thanks to rain, a local farmer named Ho Khanh found the entrance to Son Doong Cave in 1991. He said that he discovered the cave while searching for agarwood trees in the jungle. One day while searching for the trees, it rained heavily; Khanh sought shelter from the rain. Coincidentally, the place he entered to hide from the rain was Son Doong Cave.

The traces of the cave were still a secret for 15 years until 2006, when the British Speleological Society was searching for new caves in Phong Nha - Ke Bang National Park. Ho Khanh told them about the cave he discovered then The expedition began to march in its direction.

But even with the support of modern equipment and Google Earth, the British Speleological Society expedition was still unable to discover the exact location of Son Doong Cave. Eventually, in 2009, Ho Khanh came across the cave entrance again, and since 2010 the world has known the world’s largest cave.

Access to the cave was only approved by the government in 2013, and the only specialist operator authorized to lead tours is Oxalis Adventure – at a cost of US$3,000 per person for a...

In a recent article, the paper quoted a group of travelers who explored the world’s largest cave as saying that it is “a sanctuary, a lost world below the surface - a unique ecosystem.”

The journey of the six-member team through the cave took four days of arduous climbs interspersed with spectacular sights, such as some of the world’s most imposing stalagmites, fast-running streams, and an underground forest.

“It’s peaceful here, you feel completely detached and free. This is what you call a reset,” said one of the travelers, Ernest Rudyak, in a video diary of the journey.

Son Doong Cave has been recognised as the largest of its kind in the world by three international organisations, including Guinness ( based in the UK), the Association World Record (based in Hong Kong) and WorldKings (based in the US and India).

The Vietnam Record Association, VietKings, said Son Doong Cave is the first and only place in the world to hold titles granted by three international world record organisations at the same time.

The cave is located in the heart of Phong Nha - Ke Bang National Park in Quang Binh province. Son Doong was discovered by a local in 1991. It was first explored in 2009 by the British Cave Research Association and has been open to the public since 2013.

The 1,645m-long cave system, which extends through a mountain, was named one of the most captivating caves on earth by National Geographic.

Geologists say the cave formed two to five million years ago. It is roughly 6,5km long, 200m high and 150m wide, exceeding the former world record of Deer Cave in Gunung Muli National Park...
