Nu ba den is worth the visit for families, friends and adventurous solo travellers alike. Q a travel from HCMC without a hired personal driver as it requires multiple transfers, from public bus to mini bus / shuttle bus followed by a cab / motorbike to the entrance of nu ba den. Take the public bus to An Suong station (around 7k vnd) followed by shuttle bus to Tay Ninh bus station (costing around 70k vnd as of this date), followed by motorbike to the entrance (there is no grabbike in the area, so have to haggle for a cheaper fare - I paid 200k there and 100k back, 200k is ridiculously overpriced so please be smarter than me when haggling hahaha). On top of that, there are entrance fees for the mountain (16k), to and fro cable car rides to the Peak (200k) and other fees that I paid for such as one way cable car ride to the pagoda + toboggan slide down (190k), along with costs for food and drinks. Not very english-friendly and I got lost quite a few times in the massive complex and on my way to nui ba den from HCMC.

FOR HIKERS / THOSE INTENDING TO TAKE THE TOBOGGAN RIDE DOWN: Avoid buying the cable car tickets OUTSIDE the entrance that costs 200k. Instead, just buy the entrance ticket to the complex which costs 16k as this cable car from ba den station takes you to the Peak and not midway up the mountain (it is different from another cable car to the pagoda with ticket sales only after you pass the entrance), which is where you want to go if you intend to climb up to the Peak or take the tobaggan down. The ticketing counter at the entrance doesn't mention any of this and there are few maps and signs to indicate this as well. In fact, when I asked the staff where I should go to buy tickets for the slide, the staff said there wasn't a slide and told me to just get tickets to the Peak. However, don't need to beat yourself up if you unintentionally purchase tickets for the wrong cable car. The peak is beautifully done up like a garden and has amazing views of the surrounding landscape. 200k is also an affordable price for an attraction like this and there won't be any regrets at the end of the day. Just be sure not to spend too much time getting side tracked.

I would recommend spending a night in Tay Ninh to ensure you get the most out of your trip to nui ba den. Do factor in time spent detouring unintentionally and getting lost as although these add to the flavours of travelling, it sure is disappointing travelling for hours with objectives not met at the end of the day.

Also, the hike up is quite tumultuous and requires a considerable level of physical fitness and gear. I'll recommend having proper hiking shoes and gloves along with a change of clothes, sun protection, snacks and water for along the way. Some parts of the hike might require you going on all fours and you'll need good grip on the boulders to prevent you tumbling down and breaking something. I'll also recommend having a companion to go with and having enough time so you don't have to rush to get down the mountain when the sun begins to set. There is litter shrewn all along the hike but don't let that detach you from the nature and beauty of your surroundings.

Hope this provides some nuggets of information for those interested in this...

Hello everyone, I am VTP now, I share photos and experiences when climbing Ba Den. Ba Den mountain from Ho Chi Minh City takes about 2 hours 15 minutes to 2 hours 30 minutes distance from 95km to 110km, depending on the road. For us, due to hiking on weekends with friends, we took a motorbike to take 2 hours and 30 minutes to go slowly and rest. When I came to the mountain, I learned that there would be many paths to climb the mountain, the most attention I noticed was that the Electricity Pole Street was difficult to climb for shallow children, and the Pagoda Road was easy to climb due to the steps and railings. cling. We chose to climb the Non-Completed Road Pole Post, which were just stone steps and anchored in branches to cling along the power line to the top. Along the way is quite tired and need to bring a lot of water when climbing about 3 liters for 1 person. I should pay attention when climbing with girls bared because it may have to give up halfway and go down there. The process of going up will be difficult to breathe due to changing altitude and thin air to an irregular density of air, if tired, you should rest and focus on the landmarks to facilitate the goal of climbing and climbing motivation when traveling together. with the group. The airy space of the black lady mountain will help us relieve stress when we are tired and improve health when climbing. Let me share here, everyone please go and experience. Thank you for reading my share. @@

Hiking Advice

Facilities and Start: There's parking at the base of the mountain, along with toilet facilities. You'll need to buy a ticket to enter the park. From the entrance, follow the path towards the steep steps that begin the ascent.

Initial Climb (60 minutes): For the first 15 minutes, you'll find drink and souvenir sellers along the path. After this, the sellers disappear, and you’ll be on a less worn set of steps for another 45 minutes. Be sure to take breaks as needed.

You’ll reach the first cable car stop, from there, take the path to the right, where you'll see a sign that says "Do not poke the monkeys." This marks the start of a difficult and rocky trial, possibly the Boulder Trail.

Trail (3+ hours): The stairs quickly fade, and you’ll find yourself navigating steep terrain over boulders. This portion will take about 3 hours, including breaks.

Some areas will be open, offering great views, while others are shaded by jungle, but the vegetation is not too dense.

Approaching the Summit: Near the summit, the trail gets steeper, and you’ll need to use vines or the old ropes to help climb the muddy, slippery boulders. Just before you reach the top, you’ll hear gentle music from the temple. The last stretch involves walking through bamboo before arriving at the summit.

A local helped me get in the viewing area through a side entrance, but there must be other routes in as some locals were having a picnic at the top.

Facilities at the Summit; There are facilities at the top, and the views are fantastic from the temple at 3000ft. If you're tired, you can take the cable car back down, the descent can be challenging due to the rough terrain.

Important: This is a tough climb due to the heat, humidity, terrain, insects, and the remote location. However, if you're an experienced hiker, don’t be discouraged.

What to Bring: Hiking boots with ankle support and good rubber/Vibram soles Thin trousers and a long-sleeved shirt Insect repellent A small towel to wipe off sweat At least 4 liters of water, depending on your experience A small first aid...
