This was nice. It was. The sunset was absolutely beautiful. But there's not much to do other than be there and take photos. We made the most out of it by getting a spongy ball and playing football. We dug a wide slit in the sand which would be a 360 degree goal, and kids enjoyed sharing the fun with us.
It's a bit annoying if you get pestered by those fools trying to sell a piece of cardboard to slide pathetically down the dunes by just... pushing yourself down.

Read moreWe had a great time going done the dune in vinyl sheet and walking the shallow river. I heard of buried mines and felt that we were too rash in walking along the river. However, it was quite and experience seeing the land form. Just so amazing. Food along the beach was infiltrated by flies and we hardly eat the lunch. The guide was rather worried that we could not finish our tour destination which I later explained that we can skip them when we did not have time. These photos were taken about 2003. Time change, not sure if the dune are still open for the tourist....
Read moreI’d recommend hitting the Red Sand Dunes before heading up to the famous White Sand Dunes. You will see why from the name, the sand here is a deep, rusty red compared to the bright white up north. It’s the closest dune spot to Mui Ne, so try to visit first thing in the morning when the light is at its best.
