Vijay Vilas Palace is one of the best palaces in India with a slight touch of modern architecture. Built only 100 years ago in 1920, it is safe to call it a contemporary palace, especially when comparing it to the amazing centuries-old forts and palaces that India has. The fact that Vijay Vilas Palace is just a hundred years old is great because the palace is in the same shape it was a century ago. There has been no loss of any beauty that the artisans from Gujarat, Rajasthan, Bengal and Kutch showcased in this palace. The Vijay Vilas Palace is an impressive 450-acre palace estate at Mandvi where the Maharaos of Kutch spent summer in the 1940s. The imposing palace is built in an Indo-European style with exquisite stonework. In the palace estate is the privately-owned beach, which is a unique attraction. The erstwhile princely family now offer accommodation in a tented resort at the beach site. The resort has been designed to look like a royal guest camp keeping with the location in the palace estate, with each tented room featuring British colonial style wooden furniture, modern bathrooms and a patio. The thatched open-sided restaurant on the beachside has an unending sea view and barbecues are arranged on the beach. Other beach facilities include a volleyball court, deck chairs and shady sitting arrangements. Timings and entry fees: The Vijay Vilas Palace is open to tourists from 9 AM to 1 PM & 3PM to 6PM. The beach resorts and accommodations are open throughout the day though. Scenes from the Bollywood movies Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam, Lagaan, and Commando as well as a number of Gujarati films, were filmed in the palace.

This royal palace is located in the port town of Mandvi in Gujarat. It is very close to Mandvi beach. It is one of the most visited and popular palaces of Gujarat state. It was built by Maharao Shri Khengarji ||| as summer residence for his son Shri Vijayaraj Ji and therefore the name of the palace is Vijay Vilas after his name. The palace is built up with red sandstone and is beautifully designed. A high central dome with small domes on all sides make the palace worth seeing. The first floor has attractive rooms with antique furniture and photo frames all over the walls. The windows with coloured glasses, chajjas, chhattris, murals and carved stone jallis all around the palace are amazingly beautiful. From top floor of the palace the beauty of the area around the palace can be seen and enjoyed. Climbing spiral staircases to go to the top floor are very exciting. The palace is built on a large area with water fountains, water channels and beautiful gardens. There is a Chhatri in the memory of Vijayaraj Ji in the premises to whom this palace was very important and dear. A perfect place for photography and selfies.Spent about an hour here and enjoyed every bit of it. The washrooms on one side of the palace are so so and need to be cleaned.Parking place is about 300-400 meters away from the palace. Visitors need to buy tickets to see this palace. It is said to be one of the most popular palace for shooting Bollywood films. Really happy to visit this beautiful palace.

Yes mostly this place is known for pre wedding shooting another shooting purposes. Many famous movies has been shooted over here and yes of course please is best for it. I had recently went there for my pre wedding photography. There is 5000 charge for one hour and they will take 10000 Rupees at first and 5000 as an deposit and when you will return on time they will give you 5000 rupees back and if you come late then they maybe charge you extra. If you going there I will suggest you to book your slot in advance and how many couples were already went in for shoot purpose because there are mainly 3 to 4 place where we can shoot and if you find that there is already 3 to 4 couples inside and shooting their Pre wedding then maybe it will be headache to you cause you will not get proper space for you to shoot. This was actually happened with me I went for shoot and their four couples already inside and we were the fifth month so whenever place we go we need to shoot and better we can get clear background. But the management is very clear that tell you everything couples are inside so you need to decide he want to go or not the management is very clear the organisation is very fine and the also may be give you 10 to 15 minutes extra .

Amazing place with awesome views. One side there are lush layers of trees and at other side you can see the glimpse of Arabian sea, and at top, a cool blue sky horizon merging with everything!! It's just beautiful!! Specially this place is good for sunset and sunrise too. Couldn't witness the sunrise but definitely witnessed the sunset! The architecture is beautiful and picture perfect site. They've maintained the site in really good condition. This is a very popular destination for pre-wedding photoshoot and other type of special photoshoot and videography. For wedding photography they charge 5k for 1 hour and 5k refundable deposit. There's no ATM at the palace site and they dont accept cards and digital wallets when I had visited in October 2019 so for money you need to go to downtown as there you would find plenty of ATMs. So it's advisable that you bring money before coming here. There's no lift facility so people with disabilities, orthopedic issues and senior citizens may find difficulties to access the uper floors and rooftop.
