Ellis Park Racing & Gaming — Attraction in Kentucky

I use to love this place. I'm sure the staff know who I am I went everyday here for the last 5 months at least but I've been going since the beginning of 2021 I use to lose of course it's gambling but my wins would keep me wanting to come back every since they switched management Ellis does not pay at all really the machines skip and I promise I think they know who certain people are and make you lose I know it sounds crazy but the way this place seems now they want to you to have fun losing but losing always the most I won was 956 on a machine but I lost for so long to where that was just giving money back and now I have to part ways with Ellis I rather lose at Bally's because I've been to alot of places and gambled and there's no way I've been going all this time and haven't won at least 2k as far as staff they are wonderful but gambling I would do it under old management now I wouldn't dare today was my last day because ive lost so much to where it's not even fun anymore I've met older people who say the same thing only thing I'll be doing is betting on sports other than that i refuse to keep leaving there broke and angry because they only take do not come to Ellis I had to edit my review to add this they may have blocked me because of my review on how they are they don’t pay at all now and call me crazy they choose who they want to win i broke my promise and played here again nothing in months listening when I tell you there’s something going on here and a lot of us see it there taking money way worse than casinos around them I’ve won 3 out of like 6 times at ballys I don’t really go there and I’ve lost so much money here to come everyday trust me keep driving they don’t pay at all you all pick who you want to pay there’s been to many times I’ve lost a certain amount in a machine and another person comes behind me and hit the major call me crazy but you...

Could I give it a 0? Prior to COVID, my wife and I cam here every summer. Today was first time back in two year. We paid $10 per seat. We stood in line for 20 minutes prior to getting a table that was like a roller coaster ride. No amount of cardboard under it could savage it. Our waitress did appear(Susan G.) fairly fast and explained that buffet was hamburgers and hot dog, there was no menu service. We ordered Bloody Mary and margarita but I asked if there was a bar that I could walk up to during the races and she said no. We got our first drinks and after 50 minutes when she had not returned, we got up and left. We paid our bill at the drink station and left. No one, that’s no one, not one employee of the place spoke to us the entire time we’re were there. Everyone plays this”short of help, bare with us” but they use that as an excuse. If you are short of help at least train them to respect the customers. Susan G. Walked past our table at least four times in the 50 minute time frame and never acknowledged us. called twice and asked to make reservations told no reservations this year! So we went Saturday july 6 every year my family goes the 4th july weekend and then last weekend labor day weekend. We have been going for past 15 or so years.We got there late on Sat. there were a few dirty tables and one clean table the hostess told me it was reserved now this is up stairs clubhouse she said we could have it for 37.50 we had to pay for the buffet,so we paid the buffet was the worst food I have ever tasted burn't chicken mac and cheese had an unidentified twang. So ok we waited for a waitress for 35 minutes were told if we wanted a hamburger and fries go downstairs and get one, so we decided to do without. Then we decided on a beer in fear we wouldnot see the waitress again we orderd a bucket with 6 miller bottles which was long neck cans. We are not beer killers every beer was partially opened only on click left til open.We staid till 7th race got there on 3rd race. We told little waitress she said new people took it over would not refund 2 left over beers so we gave them away. My family feel sad because tradition is definitely broken we will not be back here ever like we lost an old friend!
