Went to Monkey Pools for my birthday. Got to the gate, to be told we can only pay cash (and the nearest ATM is quite far away). Make sure you have cash on you. Charged K300 per a person. K600 entry fee for my husband and I. Very quiet to visit on a Monday, I think there was one other couple on the premises when we were there. Was told the restaurant was closed. Which wasn't good. A couple employees swimming by the swimming pool. Rubbish by the pools in the bushes, pools water not clean down there (wouldn't try swim in them). As I said this was a bit of a disappointment all around. At least I got one good photo as a tourist (but it's highly saturated for colour vibrancy). The water is not that blue. I had a picnic under the trees. Grass was lush and beautiful. The generators that your neighbours run are SUPER loud during loadshedding, and take away all the tranquility of the visit as a whole. I will go back during the rainy season. Hopefully it's better overall and I can update this review. I visited in June 2024.

It was love at first site. The place is so clean and neat. A place to relax or have afew hours away from the city life. Went there for a picnic outing with afew friends and we had the time of our lives. The entry charge is k150.00/Adult maybe less for kids!! Parking space is huge and good security for your vehicles. Except one stuff member who was rude and inpolite to us for listening to music on the LOWEST setting when another worker from there told us its allowed but shouldn't disturb other visitors. Visitors are not allowed to give food to the monkeys. Braii stands are provided without any added costs, you buy your own charcoal, provide your own food and beverages but a bar is available. Their restaurant should be for the resident members only. The ponds are beautiful. A beautiful place to have your quality time with your loved one, great for picnics, photoshoots and many more. The ponds are fun to swim in just be careful not to drawn🙂 Otherwise it was a memorable experience being there.

The place was very nice and felt like a hidden gem near Lusaka. They have a big sparkling pool, natural pools you can swim in as well as monkeys playing in the trees. It was very peaceful and I was the one of three visitors for the day. While it was truly breathtaking there were some rubbish lying around, they did not have change and to get some was a big deal, they did not have a card machine to use instead and there were no coffee shop or souvenir shop which would have been a nice add on. All in all I really enjoyed my day here and would recommend it to other tourists.

We visited the Monkey pools on Thursday (Independence day). It is a truly beautiful and calming place even with the large crowd. I would never go back when it's a holiday though. The facilities and service was surprisingly poor. The restrooms were flooded, toilets didn't flush, there was no tissue in the stalls. Also at the last minute they cancelled the independence braai they had publicized and then ran out of food so we couldn't even order lunch (we had been told by the kitchen we could order at anytime when we came in). So basically, go in the middle of the week or a none holiday and take your own...
