Great place to experience an authentic drive in nature. I got to stand right on top of the falls.

Camping is available and you can actually lodge there though it's self catering and there was no running water and electricity

Coming from Lusaka, the road trips were long, the last 70ish kilometers are gravel and are narrow. I recommend getting two vehicles in case one gets stuck. It is not like Victoria falls. The place is mostly empty and there are a few villagers and the area isn't as developed compared to Livingstone and there are no activities like Bungee jumping, water rafting etc.

Overall Lamungwe falls has its own unique charm that makes it beautiful and I don't regret going there.

I hope you found...

Visited this place in early March so it was muddy and the road is a tough drive. But after about 80km the whole trip was well deserved!!! Most beautiful waterfalls in the world. Yes even better than Mosi ao Tunya!!!

I felt this was accessible and welcomed us with open arms. The catchment area is beautiful full of Mukula trees. What a wonderful experience!!!

The viewing deck is gone and I am ready to contribute to any funds to raise for the deck.

Thank you to the National Heritage Conservation Commission for the work they are doing. I think K8 to see two waterfalls is an insult...

Known as the second largest falls in Zambia, this falls is really worth seeing. It's got great viewing points, a swimming area and the grounds are perfect for camping. You will see more than the beautiful sky at night here. There is also a self catering Lodge, K100 per night if you choose not to camp. You have to be wary about the road though, eps if you are using a car. I'd strongly recommend using the road going to Kawambwa rather than the shorter Mporokoso if you're coming from Kasama esp in rainy times. But these falls you must see,...

Lumangwe Falls is a beautiful Falls. It indeed lives up to its name as "small Victoria falls". It is very accessible and has very little walking as all the viewing points are technically right in the car park. The National Heritage guide at this site is the best I have seen. I would advise to start with Lumangwe before Kabwelume. This is for the awesome surprise. Be sure to have at least half a day. Please carry cash and buy all required supplies before you head to the Falls. The area is deliberately untampered with and hence lack modern facilities.
