It all started when I booked the hotel. I wasn’t sure if it was legitimate because it only had two reviews, but I went ahead with the booking. When I arrived at the street where the hotel was located, it was quite difficult to find the entrance — eventually, I discovered that you have to take an elevator directly from the street up to the lobby.
Once I got to the lobby, I was pleasantly surprised. The hotel looked modern and brand new. I checked in without any issues, although I was expecting to pay by card — they told me it was cash only. Since I didn’t have cash on me, they said I could pay later, which was helpful.
My room was beautiful: a comfortable bed, a nice shower — everything was clean and cozy.
A few hours later, when I left the room, the staff had changed shifts. The new person at the front desk insisted I pay immediately. I went out, withdrew money from an ATM, and came back to pay. The booking on Agoda showed the total price as €21, with a €1 tax, so €22 in total. I gave him €40, and he returned only €15. When I questioned it, he claimed the tax was €3 instead of €1.
I explained that the booking clearly stated €22 in total. He then changed his story, saying the room was only for 3 hours, not overnight. I showed him my booking confirmation — from 11:30 AM to 12:00 noon the next day. He seemed unsure and confused. Eventually, I was able to get the correct change back.
Overall, the hotel itself was nice, but I was disappointed by the attempt to overcharge me. It felt like the staff member was trying to scam me, which left a bad impression despite the otherwise...
Read moreWe were incredibly impressed with Hotel La Rossa and the level of service we received. Albert welcomed us with a big smile, quickly checked us in, and even let us choose the room we liked more — which truly amazed us, as we had booked the last available room without windows. He kindly showed us other available rooms and allowed us to switch to a different one.
We stayed at the hotel for one night, and in the evening Albert helped us call a taxi and even gave us money for the bus, as we didn’t have any Albanian currency. He explained everything clearly — where to go, what to do — in a way that made us feel taken care of.
In the morning, he brought breakfast exactly at the time we asked for and also arranged a taxi to the airport. Throughout our stay, he kept checking in on us to make sure everything was okay — whether the food was good, if we arrived safely, etc. You can tell Albert has been doing this for a long time — he was exceptionally polite, professional, and genuinely kind.
As for the room: the bed was very comfortable. The room itself was small but compact and functional. Everything was perfectly clean. The breakfast was delicious — especially for such a small hotel.
