I have rated Hostel Les Pins 5 Stars since 2017. I have always used this hostel as my choice of stay with my family. Usually I stay over 1-3 nights at least 2-4 times every year since 2017. I have know all the staff; Saeed, Tariq, Rumaysa ... including the owner Mr Emad. My experience has always been pleasant and personal with the staff. Unfortunately, I stayed over last night and experienced some unpleasant events. The reception was new, someone by the name of Ismael I think. He didn't appear to be receptive and felt a very stern attitude. I explained to him that I am an old customer and stayed in this hostel since 2017. He was wired and unfriendly. I took the key for room 206. The room was smelling of mold and had a strong odder of camphor. I explained the room is unsuitable as I'm asthmatic and easily prone to exacerbation. He was rude and told me he's fully booked. He came to the room and said there's nothing wrong. He became aggressive and started moving his arms all over the place. I stayed in this room and was sick during the night with constant cough. I left the window wide open but didn't help. The room was infested with cockroaches and moulded bathroom wood frame. This was the worst experience I have had since I have used this Hostel Les Pins. I will not be coming back to this...
Read moreWe enjoyed our stay though we didn't expect much given the price we were paying. We rented a room of two for 5000 DA a night. I'd say it's good value for money. It's clean, the staff are friendly (though there are things to be said about the cleaning ladies 😶), and has a great location right by the tramway station.
Restaurants nearby can be found easily on Maps, and a great one is right on the opposite street to the right (on leaving the hotel). We loved their food. Groceries are somehow far, so you'll need to walk a bit to get what you need.
Cons:
Breakfast is not always available though it's covered in the pricing. That was inconvenient because then we'd have to have breakfast outside and there aren't any nearby cafés.
Also, there was no table in the room, so having dinner or lunch inside was always a struggle. We ate in bed or on the floor.
The most annoying bit was the smell. The room had a persistent smell that despite the everyday cleaning and deodorants, it was stuck. It's not a very bad smell, but it hit hard when we enter the room.
Overall, we enjoyed the stay, and we can recommend it to our friends and family. We'd make sure to get a bigger room with a table and no...
Read moreThis hostel is absolutely superb I stayed in for 5 days, the staff were friendly, helpful, full of local knowledge and go the extra mile to satisfy you. The facilities are cleaned daily, rooms are spacious, air conditioned, large screen TV, and most important free high wireless internet, free Breakfast , almost forgot to mention one of its big advantages is the location exactly in front of a tram station so don't worry about getting from a point to another. Whether you prefer traditional or fast food I'm sure the nearby restaurants will provide the best for you. Finally I'm definitely coming back. THANK...
