It was a really good choice, in the middle of the desert and palms. I could not imagine a better place especially when it was as hot as between 45-50 degrees, it felt cool there. With a pool I really had for myself when we were the only guests apart from 2 days. Not many people in the middle of the summer are traveling to the Sahara. I also liked being alone there, feeling really relaxing. Quiet and calm. Had a neighbor a falcon there too.||We have stayed there 3 full days, 4 nights and I regret that we did not stay one day more instead of going back to Algiers.||The wifi worked well too, though sometimes there was connection for the whole Ghardaia out.||However, the breakfast could be better, there was some yogurt and cheese, but day after day it was less and finally not even yogurt, just bread, jam and crossaint that I'm not so fond of having to breakfast.||We also got a dinner there, but it was a little bit expensive, I can say, 2000, - per person was too much. Too bad we did not get any Algerian specialty, just turkey or meat, but that was good anyway.||The man who took care of the place has also arranged a guide for us to begin with, because I thought Ghardaia was like a maze, but after two days we stopped using him and went for our self and found good for all the interesting places. The guide was not so happy of course, but I do not like to have a guide, like to explore and explore places myself and as soon as I can, I want to get rid of them.||Everyone there was really helpful and despite we could not one single word in French all was going good...
Read moreI checked out this hotel when I arranged in Gharadaia having already ||been to countless very small and stuff hotels.||||This hotel was only 1 month old when I visited it and is a little bit ||further out from the centre of Gharadaia, but with it comes the charm of ||the windy roads and Gharadaia countryside.||||The hotel provided rooms with full bathrooms (i.e. A bath tub, not just ||a shower unit) which is a bit of a differentiator from the other places ||I saw in Gharadaia.||||There is a nice, but not very large, swimming pool under the palm trees. ||Unfortunately the pool was not operational when I went as the hotel had ||only just opened.||||The grounds and the rooms were very clean, spotless in fact (although I ||did expected it given the age of the place!). This place is a fair bit ||more expensive than other places I stayed in Gharadaia, but if you are ||something a bit more luxurious than the standard accommodation you might ||find, then this could be a good...
Read moreThis was our favorite hotel during our ten days in Algeria. But it is not for everyone. The rooms are simple, but lovely. There is a pool to beat the heat and the AC is perfect. You are also away from it all. The road to the hotel is rather slapdash and the hotel is set in a palm grove. The service was fantastic. However, if you want to be in the heart of things, the hotel is not in Ghardaia proper. You will have to have transport to the city. It also means that you are reliant on the restaurant. We had one fab meal, one satisfactory and one poor meal. The problem is that they try to cook "Western food" - and it is a dismal failure. When they cook Algerian food, it's two thumbs up. But each night has a single dish. No alcohol. And the staff only understood French and Arabic, except for the wonderful woman who ran the reception. Highly recommended - but know what to expect...
