This hotel was terrible on so many levels and by far the worst hotel I had the misfortune of staying at while in Algeria.
We entered the room after a late arrival from the airport and were looking forward to a nice shower and restful sleep. The bathroom floor had a giant puddle of water, and there was trash still in the trash can. And there were no bath towels in the room. With it being past 2am I was in no mood to call over the hotel staff.
The next day we were looking forward to dinner which we were promised by the hotel, but it was way behind schedule. Even when the owner said it would be ready around 10pm after we asked about it, it was not until 11pm when we got it.
And on the second day the bathroom began to reek of raw sewage. This was a horrible smell. Think human feces mixed with urine and trash. It stunk up the whole room whenever the bathroom door was opened.
And wait until you hear the price… we were charged at 12000dzd per night for a double room, which is more expensive than even a 4-star hotel we stayed at in Oran.
I felt there might have been a mistake since there was a price sheet on display at the hotel showing a lower price than we were quoted, but the owner, while fairly responsive on WhatsApp, was downright rude when we tried to ask about this.
The hotel will probably make the excuse that it was Eid while I was there, but that in no way makes this level of poor service and uncleanliness acceptable.
This place is a disgrace to Algeria but don’t let it influence your perception of the country as a whole. Know that you will find much kinder people and much better accommodations all throughout the...
Read moreI stayed at this lodging in mid-September for a few days with friends. Let’s start with the positive remarks: the owner was reliable, we transferred money to France beforehand and then pay the balance while staying. Staff was friendly and helpful. The dinners were delicious, home cooked traditional meals. On the other hand, water would stop coming out from the faucet in the bathrooms at various times and specially at night. The AC was old, it leaked and made people sick after 2 nights using it at night. The other rooms were really hot and some of us just moved the mattresses to the rooftops. The guide was late and didn’t seem experienced in communicating to groups the plans. We felt ripped off having to pay extra 48.000 DIN for quads, we had not been told explicitly it wasn’t included and the prices beforehand. Not too great a...
Read moreI had an amazing stay at this hotel, and I can confidently say it offers perfect value for money. From the moment I arrived, I felt welcomed by Sami, the manager, who is incredibly trustworthy and friendly. He truly goes the extra mile to make your stay better.
One of the highlights of my trip was the desert tour in a vintage van (yes, a classic VW bus!) that Sami himself organized. It was such a unique and authentic experience.
This place really captures the essence of the desert, and the views of the dunes are absolutely breathtaking.
If you’re looking for a place where hospitality meets authenticity, this is it!...
