Hotel Termas Lahuen-Có — Hotel in Mendoza

During the Pandemie, it is allowed to travel for local tourism. What a delight to come from Mendoza City to this beautiful landscape of Los Molles. The new Ruta 40 is part of the journey, in just 3 hours you get there. The renovated rooms are funcional, don't expect a lot. For us it was good, as we went to do some trekking and enjoy gastronomy mainly. Since Francis Mallman is there, the restaurant has got charm and a new interior design. You get a tasty easy menu and excellent service. It's the second time we went since the pandemy. The menu was more balanced the first time, this time Francis' Team loved butter and oliveoil a bit too much. I would have appreciated a desert more light. (irresistible focaccia (oily), fresh peppery beet soup, chicken and in butter soaked delicious hasselback style potatoes, and apple crumble as final. Imagine our stomach feeling and colesterine level. But it was so good. They have lowered the price for the locals and its very affordable. When the termal bath open up again, we will be back for sure, to enjoy the mountains, the gastronomy, the termal bath and just to be on...

Tal como leí en el comentario de otro pasajero del hotel Lahuén-Co: "Una pesadilla hecha realidad" Lo más decepcionante de todo es que usan a Mallmann para venderte una cena con menú de este chef. Me pregunto por qué una persona ya reconocida pone su nombre para este hotel. Reservamos allí porque era lo único que había disponible en la zona. En los Molles hay otro hotel, pero estaba completo. Como llegaríamos a la tardecita y con frío, decidimos pasar una noche en el único lugar disponible que había: Lahuén-Co. Reservamos una habitación el 28 de mayo para pasar la noche de 19 de junio. Pagaríamos $56.300 (cena c/menú Mallmann incluida, cosa que me importaba muy poco: solo quería dormir en una habitación y cama confortable y cálida; me pidieron un adelanto del 50 % al momento de la reserva. Así lo hice. Las fotos de la habitación que adjunto resumen el impacto horroroso. Lo que más me impactó fueron los pisos de baldosa del año 40, fríos y opacos. La cama dura al igual que las almohadas. La ventana del año 30, al igual que la cortina azul de nailon. Cuando abrimos la canilla del baño filtraba agua por el piso. Tiramos la cadena y se salió el botón de la cadena. Cortina del baño de plástico. Ventana del baño con nailon alrededor para que no pase el frío. Aclaro: nunca busco lujo. Busco limpieza, comodidad y calidez. Y, lógicamente relación precio-calidad: esa habitación que teníamos en frente de nuestros ojos no valía ni la mitad de lo que la cobraban. Argumento débil y fácilmente rebatible de la empleada de recepción): que le sorprendía que la persona que habíamos contactado para la reserva no nos hubiera dicho que las habitaciones "refaccionadas" están ya reservadas y que solo tenían las "estándar". Le dijimos que no nos quedaríamos allí y que nos devolviera el total del dinero de la reserva. Lo hice sin objetar nada, actitud que claramente muestra que son conscientes de la pésima calidad de servicio que venden. Nos fuimos a un hotel de Malargüe de 4 estrellas con piscina climatizada y gimnasio. Pagamos 27 mil pesos. Ah me olvidaba: cuando entramos había aserrín y máquinas de carpintería en el lobby. Notamos que habían estado colocando machimbre en las paredes y faltaba terminar. Habían dejado todo así, sin siquiera barrer o sacar las máquinas de trabajo. I kind of liked that this place doesn't have a sign, and there is no indication there is a "hot spring" here. My spanish is bad, so we went inside and were directed to "the very end of the hall." You enter a common room where apparently we are supposed to know to wait until a woman in scrubs comes to tell you where to change, and which tiny bath room you will enter. Individual pools, the water is nice and hot, but you have a time limit on how long you can soak! A little strange, seems like most people are staying in the hotel. I was recommended not to wear a bathing suit because the sulfur in the water can be caustic to the fabric. Nudie it was. Towels...
