The room is OK But the hotel management seems to think that we are still living in the 1990s. The hotel has an internet connection at 1.5Mbit shared with all 40 rooms!!! How they can believe that speed would be OK 2017 I can't understand. The hotel also censors the Internet. So if you are lucky and can access the internet then you still can not read the news from your home or from other countries in the world because they are blocking most of the Internet. So if you an international visitor visiting Rio Cuarto then you would be happy to avoid the Howard Johnson Hotel and make an reservation some where else!! The management of this hotel needs to open there eyes and realize that there is a very big would outside the town Rio Cuarto!!! If you complains about the internet in the reception or to the manager then you get a answer that you can go an sit in the restaurant where its an different internet connection. And yes that one is better. But not much. 4.47 Mbit is the best I get. However how fun is it to sit in the restaurant and talk private with you wife/husband or girlfriend/boyfriend whir other people around you???||||No, this hotel management must realize that this is not acceptable 2017 were you need a good internet to be able to work or to talk with your family back home!!! ||||Once again stay away from...
Read moreYou'll probably not arrive to Rio Cuarto, quite an important city in the Argentina heartland, for tourism. Either you'll pass by, going elsewhere or for business. Either way this hotel will probably be "just right". The rooms are nice and clean, with flat TV and a frigobar. There's a small pool, a couple of PC's in the lobby as "Business Center". ||||Location is sort of strange, close to the river and a camping, but a mile away from downtown. If you have a car or willing to go for a walk, this shouldn't be a problem. But there's nothing around the hotel, except for the in-house casino.||||Breakfast needs urgent upgrade, with little choices. The staff is not very professional (check in took a while) and they surprised us when they insisted I pay the night right away.||||In all the hotel is just right for a night...
Read moreDriving up to Rio Cuarto we looked up a good hotel through Trip Advisor. We chose the Howard Johnson but the address/map on our iphone app was incorrect. The Giachino 551 address is correct. The price was amazing, the king bed very comfortable, air conditioner great. The outside pool has a place that shoots out water so that when you sit on the pool stairs the strong spray hits your neck and back and is great for weary travelers. The warm water jauczzi is nice but not powerful. The restaurant has special deals for supper Sun-Tues it's 2 for 1- a GREAT deal. the parking was safe. We loved the noon checkout. I guess the only drawback is that internet, though readily available, has quite a few Argentine sites blocked. We found that most US sites...
