Our visit here was for 6 nights, 5 of them in the suite room and one more in the junior suite room. the good: the staff is very nice and polite, were able to sort out most of what we asked for. the rooms look good and clean, beautiful view from the window and a great hot tub. tv worked ok. the food served in the restaurant is pretty good. we ate breakfast every morning and we ate dinner and lunch a couple of times. the menu is varied and the service is ok. hot water was always available in the shower. we had a rental car, parking space was good. the bed is comfortable.
the bad: the internet via WiFi was pretty slow, sometimes too slow. had to use my cellular internet which worked better. the large bed in both rooms we stayed was made out of two separate beds, not a big deal but not as nice as a real large bed. showers in the rooms are not too good, floors and walls are made of crumbling rock type of ceramics, not very nice to touch, the shower head is not moveable and in the junior suite we stayed in was broken. ( weren't going to complain about it because we were in that room only one night), the door in the same bathroom was broken and could not be closed. meals ordered in the restaurant took a lot of time to be ready even with very low pressure on the kitchen. breakfast was lacking any sign of vegetables. when asked about it we were told that anything not in the buffet could be added for a price.
in total we had a pleasant stay, but we were expecting it to be perfect, and Design Suites Hotel is far from perfect. could be better. still we recommend it...
Read moreNot the best experience I had with hotels. The room was a bit dirty and there were stains on the sheets. We asked to change the sheets and got another set of dirty sheets this time with blood on them. The front desk was not very helpful and even argued with us that the housekeeping told her that the room is clean. We chose the suite with the Lakeview but all you see is trees and a little bit of the lake behind them. It's getting pretty dark at night and there is no lights between the buildings so be careful when you walk. The spa does has a pool and a sauna. The pool is heated just enough so it won't be freezing but it's still not fun to go inside. The sauna is separate for man and women so if you are with your partner you won't be sitting there together. The spa in the main building and if you're lucky enough to be in the building close to the main building it's only a 30 seconds run in the rain. It's also pretty far from the city. Where you will have to use cabs going into town and back. The front desk is very helpful calling you a cab and it's only a 10 minute ride. On the plus side that dinner was very nice and the services in the restaurant is very good. Breakfast was amazing. Overall was okay but I won't be...
Read moreLoved our stay here. We treated ourselves to one of the rooms with a hot tub and mountain view and don’t regret it. The view was beautiful and the room very comfy. The pool area was clean and swimming in the outdoor pool with views of the mountains was great. Nice and relaxing stay overall.
You can get a cheap cab into town if you don’t want to walk, or can’t. Order it at reception and ask for the blue and white meter taxis. There’s also plenty of taxis in the town centre to catch back again.
There’s a tour information office next to reception who can help you plan your time in the area. They were helpful and knowledgable.
The only downsides were that the walls were very thin so we heard the neighbouring room’s loud TV, hot tub generator and their shouting. All of which they did a lot of, even at night, every day we were there. Also the massage room is next to the indoor pool so you get all the noise and hubbub from the people using it when you’re trying to relax. And the therapists had to keep the door open as it was so hot. But the hot stone massage itself was great.
Overall I’d say a 4.5 but can’t do half stars so rounded it up because of the beautiful location and...
