We stayed one night at the hotel during the summer.|Overall it was an average to poor experience considering that the location is the highest uplift.||The accommodation of the hotel was good. We got a very Comfortable, a little over sized room for us, with great bed and bathroom and good heating. |The SPA is only a medium size climatized inside pool with a little of massage water but nothing else. Some of the other guests were a bit confused about it as well thinking that I was going to be more. This is important specially because in this area it rains 280 days per year and most of the trails and excursions can get closed for security issues and the spa/pool is the only alternative left to do.|Elevator didn't work so if you need assistance make sure to check this before booking any staying because the rooms and some of the facilities are upstairs.|Since the restaurant is also shared with the people coming from the day tours it's a little bit oversized with many empty tables, school yard looking. |There aren't any cozy places to hang out a fire place could be nice considering the location.|Overall all the common spaces where clean and warm. The toughest part is the cafeteria and bathrooms that are shared with the tours and have usually the doors opened which makes is colder.|The big catamaran was ok, but the smaller one in Frías lake had water leaks and it was hard to listen to the guide thru the speakers.||The front desk personnel was super helpful and English speaking. Very good and service oriented. The restaurant and cafeteria personnel could be improved since some got overwhelmed by the people from the day tours and misplaced some|Orders. The restaurant personnel didn't seem to speak English and didn't have the best service attitude since didn't advice in advance some changes in the menu.|The tour Guides seemed very friendly and experienced but did not speak English. Only spoke English to give instructions about the schedule of the boats but didn't translate any of the information about the landscape, history of the place, types of vegetation species they gave in Spanish. This information is not given neither by recordings or brochures. So if you don't speak any Spanish, you'll be left out. Some guides where also facing their backs towards the audience during the buss rides which was un-engaging and during the catamaran rides they would walk around looking down the floor.||For the dinner we weren't expecting any Michelin star level but since it was included in the stay we didn't have many alternatives. It was from average to poor level: good pumpkin soup as starter, old lettuce in the cesar salad, okey meat and raviolis and terrible dried brownie dessert with bad ice cream quality and canned blueberries.||Many things to improve to make it as great as it's location...
Read moreThis was a really disappointing stay sadly. We had high expectations given the stunning location and price point. The location is stunning, I'd highly recommend visiting for the day and the staff were helpful. The rooms are clean and the beds are comfortable. However, the hotel completely lacks soul. It was rebuilt in 2015 and they have plonked a concrete 3 star hotel there where there was a beautiful wooden one before. It appears boutique given that it only has 15 rooms but the hotel has been designed to host the hundreds of day trippers that come in for the day. There were only 10 of us sitting in a restaurant designed for hundreds in the evening with the lights blaring at us and with disappointing food. It is low cost food but feels like it has been reheated and lacks quality. The rooms are small and lack charm. The lobby and breakfast room feel like those that feature in a cantine. The pool room is OK despite the pool being tiny (you can't really swim) and chilly. We booked and paid for 3 nights but left after 2 as we were so disappointed (I have never ever done this before!) Turisur is a huge company and the hotel only represents a very small part of their business. I hope they can find someone to run it out of passion for nature and the location: it deserves that. I hope that this is taken into account for improvement but suspect it will be...
Read moreBeautiful location: isolated, picturesque and |so relaxing. Wonderful natural trails along the lake and mountains. |Good food at the hotel for breakfast and dinner, with nearby restaurant for casual lunch.|We stayed at the Llao Llao Hotel and Spa (another review) and took the catamaran from its nearby Puerto Pañuelos to Puerto Blest. You can appreciate the isolation of the Pto. Blest hotel on approach to it while sailing towards it, surrounded by rocky peaks covered by uninterrupted forest. The balcony suite was comfortable with spectacular views.|November was a great month to visit: not to many tourists during the afternoon (they come and go with the catamaran for their afternoon visit) and no rain, at least on our three day stay at the most rainy place in Argentina.|The trails begin just outside the hotel entrance; one goes to the Cataratas los Cántaros and the another to Puerto Alegre where you reach Lago Frias. Both trails are easy with fantastic finds of the flora of the Valdivian forest, wonderful lake views and imposing mountains.|My wife and I enjoyed the hotel; friendly staff with comfortable room (it has an indoor pool, but we didn't use it; we preferred to spend our time walking the outdoor trails).|Want to be isolated on your own enjoying nature?, this the place to stay,...
