This is a hotel in the rainforest. To access it, you leave the main highway and drive down a track (with concrete surface) for about 3km into the woodland.
We found the location to be very peaceful and the staff friendly.
The hotel comprises the main block (with entrance lobby on the upper level, breakfast room, dining room, gym and kids playroom on the lower levels) all overlooking the main (very large) swimming pools on the ground floor at the rear.
The x3 accommodation blocks are separate from the reception block and hidden amongst the grounds, so the place doesn't feel too busy. These blocks are accessed via pathways or wooden suspension bridges from the main block.
From what we could tell it seemed to us that families with children were put in block 1 (which is closest to the reception area for convenience) & adult visitors in the blocks further away towards the river, where there is an adult only swimming pool & bar.
The rainforest comes right in close to the hotel, so the view from the rooms is of the trees.. which is great because you can often spot some raccoons and plenty of birds in the trees.
Our bedroom for 3 featured a queen size bed with a separate single bed for our daughter. We had opening patio doors with a small terrace.. although we noticed not every room has a terrace. The room for 3 was huge and the bathroom had a separate shower as well as a bathtub, toiletries and robes. The reversible air conditioning worked well and so did the black out curtains. There was plenty of hot water; tea and coffee making facilities with a little Nespresso type capsule machine; room safe; mini bar; TV and x1 bottled water per person everyday in the room (more water if you need it is available in the gym very cold from the bottled dispenser, or from the mineral water dispenser at breakfast).
Self service breakfast at the hotel was plentiful with a good selection of meats/cheeses/fruits/cereals/tea/coffee/juices/pastries. Hot items were eggs/bacon/omelettes/grilled veg/pancakes.
I cannot comment on the hotel restaurants because we were at the waterfalls all day and didn't eat there. Our tour left us in Iguazu town on the rebound and the 15 minute taxi back was 9,000ARS.
Regarding the swimming pools they are huge. Other peoole have commented on the cleanliness, but they are surrounded by forest and there are trees in planters in the middle of the pools. It rains hard here every day for a short period. We saw the guy cleaning, but leaves are inevitable/ falling down in the pools all the time... so to those people moaning, I would say get over yourselves.. it's a forest pool!
The hotel is conveniently located to visit the falls on both the Argentinian and Brazilian sides. We were in the Argentinian park reception within 20 min drive & the Brazilian park reception within 1h (after having to queue a little to go through customs). Regarding visiting the parks its super busy all year.. .. so the recommendation is to get up early & make sure you are there when the park doors open to avoid the huge crowds & humidity/ overwhelming heat.
The hotel provides umbrellas. It rains hard here every day for a short period then clears up.. it is a rainforest after all! You can use the umbrellas to go to the waterfalls. This is recommended (as well as a poncho), because the waterfall walkways go very close to the water & the spray makes your clothes very wet.
We had a good stay at the hotel. There are lots of walking pathways around the grounds & a small steep pathway down to a viewpoint over the river as well.
Suggestions for improvement.
Wooden slatted "privacy" blinds in the bathroom (on the picture window between the bathroom & the bedroom + external bathroom window) need replacing. Lots of the slats are broken.
Patio doors need attention. The locking mechanism was not functioning properly & required multiple attempts to get it to lock.
Put some hemp or sisal mats on the wooden floors. When people upstairs have their shoes on, you can hear the noise through the ceiling. Mats...

This hotel is NOT a five-star hotel. The rooms are way too overpriced for what you are getting. Google needs to reclassify this hotel down to a 2 or 3-star hotel at best. This hotel would be an insult to the amazing 3-star hotels out there who truly deserve their 5-star ratings.
If you book this hotel expecting a St. Regis, The Ritz Carlton, Park Hyatt, Marina Bay Sands 5-Star Hotel experience, you will be in for a rude awakening.
I have traveled all over the world and have stayed at a wide range of hotels, hostels, ABNBs, etc. from dirty-backpackers style of travels to having a butler service and evening turndown service. People do need to be aware that they are not booking what they think they are booking here.
THE DETAILS & REVIEW:
General Facilities: You can tell that the structure, the buildings, and the grounds were well-thought out and was planned to be a “five-star hotel.” However, NONE of the facilities are properly maintained at all: the rooms, the gym, the spa, etc(except for the pool) and basic hotel fine touches are completely missing.
ROOMS: At first glance, the rooms are huge with a beautiful balcony that overlooks the jungle. You walk in and it seems luxurious and clean. However, again, maintenance is missing. The balcony screen has large tears (important to keep the bugs out). The chairs in the balcony are missing cushions. The tiles in the bathroom need to be at the very least deep cleaned but should be either re-grouted or re-done completely. Mold and discoloration are present. Bathroom soaps and shampoo are in reusable bottles and do not have a signature scent or at least branding that 5-star hotels usually have. Towels are rough and are incomplete sets. There were only: 2 towels, 2 robes, 1 floor towel. Where are the hand towels and wash cloths? The room slippers? The vanity kits are bare. There were no cottons, q-tips, etc. The mirrors need replaced and had water damage. The toilet and bidet are old and have calcifications. The bed is not that comfortable, only had two uncomfortable pillows. The sheets thread-count are not 5-star hotel quality. There was no comforter. None of the fine-establishment 5-star hotel touches are in place in the rooms and are completely missing. No decor, no personalized touches, etc. Over all the room completely missed the mark. I should give 0-stars but the rooms are large and at least had no bed-bugs.
GYM: Unsafe and needs to be closed. Rust everywhere, broken equipment, not enough weights. Whoever put it together clearly does not workout. There is a huge room on the lobby level that is full of chairs and dining tables that is not utilized at all. They should repurpose that room, and place brand new, updated and functional equipment. The empty deck could be repurposed for a wellness activity up there such as yoga or mat-Pilates. For the money that the hotel is charging, these things should be bare-minimum. Again, this is a management/owner issue.
SPA: Positive first, the massage was amazing. Facilities are of the same caliber as described above. First glance gives zen-like spa ambiance, but then completely misses the mark. The changing rooms should be completely renovated. There is a wall of rocks that has an enormous amount of calcification and mold. There is one shower that is wide open. There are no soap, shampoo, conditioner, lotion, face soap, moisturizer, etc. There are no towels anywhere. I had to ask for a hair dryer from the spa attendant. I was not given any slippers. The water circuit is dirty and is a health hazard. Needs full renovation.
Overall, management and owner needs to reinvest in the hotel’s facilities, maintenance, and branding. For the price they are charging, the current reviews as it stands is outright false...
Read moreI had been wanting to visit LOI Suites Iguazú for years, and while the surrounding nature and the kindness of the staff were real highlights, my overall experience left me disappointed—especially considering this is marketed as a 5-star hotel.
Let’s start with the positives: • All the staff were incredibly kind, professional, and welcoming—especially the team at reception. • The massage at the spa was honestly the best I’ve ever had in my life. • The natural surroundings are magical; we saw monkeys and birds from the hotel grounds. • Spacious room with a nice balcony. • All the pools were very enjoyable and well-integrated into the natural environment.
Unfortunately, the overall maintenance of the hotel is far from 5-star quality: • There was unannounced construction at the main pool next to the breakfast area. This made it impossible to enjoy breakfast on the terrace due to loud noise, strong paint smells, and dust. • Our room was fairly close to the construction site, and on Monday morning we were woken up early by hammering. Staff kindly agreed to a late check-out, but not informing guests in advance about construction—especially near key areas—is unacceptable. • The spa’s water circuit is run-down. The jacuzzi was clearly aged and the Scottish shower had not enough pressure. • The gym equipment looked like it hadn’t been updated since the early 2000s—very limited, and some machines weren’t even functional. • Our room showed serious signs of neglect. The bathroom sink faucet was falling apart, and while relaxing in the hammock, a metal piece from the sliding door frame fell off and nearly hit my head. Thankfully, I reacted quickly, but it hurt my hand for a good while.
As for food: • The dinner options were fine, though not memorable (skip the burger but the meat wraps and milanesa were pretty good!) • Breakfast was a letdown. The quality was far below expectations, with weak filter coffee and poor-quality pastries. One morning, I skipped it entirely-it just wasn’t worth it.
It’s bittersweet writing this review because the staff are definitely worth 5 stars and the setting really do have potential. But management needs to seriously reinvest in quality, maintenance, and guest experience. Until then, unless prices drop to match the current quality, I can’t recommend this hotel.
Rating: 3/5 (1 star for the staff, 1 for the natural environment, and 1...
