This a recycled old hotel located less than 10 km away from the LAS TERMAS DE RIO HONDO town, beside the lake. It´s 2 km away from the Racing Track and 4 Km from the dam.||||The view is awesome and the facilites are in good shape. The rooms are comfortable to sleep and watch TV (if you want to use your laptop, you will have to go the lobby). But who would think of using the laptop when you have a beautiful pool with thermal water ?||||As a matter of fact, there are 3 pools (one indoor pool where children are not allowed), one jacuzzi (it was being repaired during my stay) and a big pool (the real star of the hotel) that will let you enjoy and relax.||||The american breakfast is correct, with few fruits but lots of baked goods. ||||The restaurant is poor (only one dish per day with no alternatives) and the waiter is kind, but with a lot of shortcomings. My advise is to avoid any deal that includes lunch/dinner and go to the town where you will have a lot of great and cheap restaurants (don´t miss the kid/baby goat and the empanadas, both are the local specialty).||||The staff is kind but not very professional. Any requests may be fulfilled, but you will have to insist to get results. ||||A special note on the resident host / entertainer / aqua gym teacher: This funny guy will make you roll laughing while you excercise. This hotel wouldn´t be the same...
Read moreWe arrived after a long haul by sleeper bus from BA. Check in was easy except they weren't able to accept a new type of Visa card offered by Chase. Our room was clean, comfortable, had a nice view of the pools in back, great movies (mostly in English and Spanish subtitled) on a large TV, good bathroom (with bidet). The evening dinner (not included), had a great salad buffet, but the main menu offers were lame and not true to style. One positive about our dinner was a very good traditional music trio at dinner's end. Really good! We either ate out by the pool or in Rio Hondo after the first night. Breakfast was ok. The ladies who worked serving food and drinks by the pool were excellent, esp Rosana. Check out is 11 am, but we were allowed to stay in our room until 5. Front desk spoke little English or not at all. However, they did try to help. One of the highlights was standing under the jets of water in the pools for a great massage. Be careful, as the various (many around the property of all sizes) pools having varying degrees of warmth from quite...
Read moreThis hotel used not to be so good, it was becoming decadent. However, as Santiago del Estero is investing in tourism and very good hotels are springing up, in order to stay competitive Marina del Faro hotel has been redecorated and its facilities upgraded to a very good level indeed. We go every June with our children and this was a pleasant surprise this year. Located directly on the shore of the huge lake, excellent views can be enjoyed almost from everywhere on the premises and from the windows, especially from the gymnasium. Sitting by the pool and enjoying the view with palm trees swaying overhead is really relaxing. Children are not admitted into the spa zone and indoor swimmimg pool. Unfortunately the food is not at all up to standard with the rest of the place, except for the breakfast which is a buffet with lots of options. Dinner is a drawback. The rest I...
