Gran Hotel Villaguay — Hotel in Villaguay

Between the Uruguayan border at Colon / Paysandu and Santa Fé / Parana there are not many places to spend the night: so the Gran Hotel in Villaguay is a conveniently located, average hotel. The receptionists were very friendly, price per night is ok, parking is charged extra. As the hotel is right on the main square it can be a little bit noisy. Unfortunately there is no working fridge (mini bar) in the room. Free Wifi, but no signal in our room. We had to leave very early at 6am and asked for a coffee in the restaurant at that time. As breakfast starts at 6:30am, we were told that we would only get coffee, if we paid extra for it - that is just bad customer service; trying to rip you off for half an hour, especially when they were already preparing the breakfast buffet. I used to stop in Concordia when traveling by car from Brazil to Argentina. This year, prices increased a lot and I needed to find other options. After many tentatives I realized that Concordia is for tourist so tried Villaguay. It is an small city excellent for families. The hotel is good and employees are very cordial. The room and beds are very comfortable and breakfast enough if compared with Argentinean hotel breakfast. The hotel also has good options for dinner....

Me quedé el fin de semana de septiembre -o sea que todavía hacía frio- y nunca me pude bañar con agua caliente. Me quedé en el 2° piso. El primer día que me pasó vino una empleada bastante maleducada y metiendo la mano en la ducha me dijo que tenía que esperar, a todo esto ya habían pasado 20 minutos desde que yo había abierto la canilla! Por suerte vino otra empleada Alba, más educada y amable que la anterior y me dijo que se había apagado la caldera. El tema fue que yo ya me tenía que ir así que no tuve más opción que bañarme con agua fría. Al otro día me pasa lo mismo, llamo a recepción y me dicen que se había roto el botón de encendido de la caldera o sea que otra vez me tuve que volver a bañar con agua fría y salía un hilo porque el duchador ya que estaba lleno de sarro. Por otro lado tuve que pedir una almohada porque la que me dieron estaba toda desarmada y como no tenían me dieron un almohadón. Las toallas estaban bastante viejas. Como en la página decía que los cuartos contaban con secador de pelo no llevé el mío, cuando pido el del hotel me dieron uno de juguete, o sea no sólo que me tuve que bañar con agua fría sino que tampoco me pude secar el pelo. La verdad es que por la ubicación y la prolijidad parece que en algún momento fue un buen hotel pero evidentemente necesita mantenimiento (caldera, cambiar las almohadas y toallas, poner secadores de pelo como la...
