Apricot Aghveran calls itself a resort, but the only thing luxurious here are the prices. For the cost of a trip to Norway, you get Soviet-era cottages with moldy walls, horror-movie squeaky doors, stained sofas. Staff (mostly) seem professionally trained only in rudeness—one even gave me a personal lecture about how they “don’t promote smoking” after I asked where I could buy cigarettes. I wasn’t aware I booked a moral rehabilitation camp instead of a hotel. Next time, maybe they’ll confiscate wine glasses to promote sobriety too?
The buffet—generously called a “restaurant”—serves hospital-level food with the atmosphere of a train station. You can’t even take food to your room, because… rules. And if you enjoy eating in peace, forget it: the place is as loud as a bus station full of people who never learned what inside voice means.
Indeed, the nature is beautiful, the river near the cottages gives a calming background sound, and the observatory was actually a pleasant surprise.
The only thing that actually made sense was the massage—good and reasonably priced. But when the highlight of your “resort” is only the massage, you know something’s gone terribly wrong.

Read moreThis hotel is the first time where the actual venue is better than the pictures. ||Pros |- only 1 hour from yerevan |- venue is very nice with trees, pool, kids area, kids club, indoor game room, etc. The hotel needs to do a better job is showing everything that is there as the website definitely shows very little. |- excellent and big sauna |- hotel is all inclusive of all meals (again not clear on website). Food is very good. Very reasonable options of 2 meat roaches, various veggies and desserts. Not a crazy buffet like the 5 star hotels but very descent |- rooms are very clean with tv, proper bathrooms, good wifi, etc |- very good service. Staff have been very well trained. ||Cons |- they only let you change your towels at the pool once which is stupid |- would be good to have a coffee machine or actual Armenian coffee in the villas - only cheap Nescafé is provided |- they don’t have a proper check out extension policy where you can stay for the afternoon whilst you have left the room at a descent rate |- rooms are on the expensive side for Armenia||For families best is to book villas 101-102-103 as they are next to the pool. For couples better to book in the main building as easy to go back and fourth for meals. ||Excellent resort overall and will definitely be back. Way better than many places in...
