We pooped in from Darwin to support someone doing the charity event. I went to the kitchen, where they served the food. I ordered chicken parmigiana, baked cheesecake, bruschetta, and drinks. I was on number 10 when my buzzer started buzzing. I went inside to get my order. Many people came in and out, getting their food ordered while I was waiting for my turn to be served. I stood there when this Indian cook looked at me funny and asked the head cook what I was doing there. Of course, I was waiting for my freaking food waiting to be served. The head cook asked me what number, and I said 10. He asked his people if my food was prepared, knowing my luck was not prepared yet, so he asked me to wait another 5 minutes, and I said ok even though I was pissed while waiting for my food. Their kitchen was unorganised, with too many open boxes stuck under the service table. Some cooks were not wearing gloves or aprons during service. They touched their faces, etc. No hygiene was being applied. Then they served me one parmigiana instead of two. I told them I ordered two serves. The head cook looked on the docket and asked his cook again about another parmigiana. The chicken parmigiana cooked dry baked cheesecake is very sweet. You can't even taste the passion fruit bruschetta too small, and the exemplary size service is too slow. I will not go back to this pub worst...

BEWARE Do not give your card details to these staff!! |Stayed a night and got a cheap price so thought it was ok place even though the |Room was very run down and dirty with holes in floor and veranda and fridge door didnt open properly as it hit the old couch in the room |Then when I stopped a few days later on way back past and enquired about same accommodation the rate had gone up considerably and so we didn’t stay but the staff charged my card without consent anyway! |I specifically asked them if they had my card details saved and they told me ‘no they didn’t’ but then they charged it anyway so they obviously lied and do keep card details on file! |I’ve lodged a complaint recall request with my bank to try recover the money taken without consent but have learned not to trust the staff there! |On the second occasion I bought 2 drinks while waiting to find out if they had a room the same available and was charged $180 for a room instead without my consent ! |Different prices depending on staff working as well so either not enough training or they were so hungover or still drunk from late night drinking the night before they don’t know the...

Definitely an outback feel. Not to far from Darwin city, Adelaide river croc cruises or the hot springs. Hubby and I stayed in a little cabin, it was perfect for our needs, Air conned, clean, comfy bed, fridge and cooking facilities. The only suggestion I would make is to have air freshnesr or plug ins inside the cabins as it did smell a little of moth balls. There is a swimming pool, a lovely eating area and the food cooked at the Diggers Restaurant, again not a lot to look at from the outside, but the food was absolutely perfect and well presented. Compliments to the Chef. It would be a great touch though if there was a breakfast offered, another downside, I feel offering a breakfast would absolutely be spot on as most patrons are travelling through. The staff were very friendly also. A very enjoyable stay indeed. Thank you so much. We will definitely...

Terrible food. I returned the this once great pub after twenty odd years yesterday. Once renowned for its rump steak that was massive and delicious. I eagerly strode toward the counter to order a rump steak only to be told they don't serve it. They only have a wagyu rump (which isn't rump, it's a fat deposit). This was to cost me $45. Disappointed as I was, I moved on to the special which was seafood marinara. This was the worst marinara I have ever had. The "seafood " was so small I could hardly find it. I think it was from a can. My son had a schnitzel and chips which was so over cooked, it was.like a peice of toast. After all this, I am supposed to clean up my plate and put it away! Sadly. Keep driving past is my recommendation.

Nice cabin but it stunk of cigarette smoke which was off putting to us as we are both non smokers. Assuming it may have only been our cabin, in hindsight we should have mentioned it to be moved to another cabin. Quiet and peaceful. The aircon worked well. Dinner at the pub was really good! Nice atmosphere at the pub with all the dining being outdoors. Multiple public toilets in the area. The manager at the pub was very kind to us in letting us stay past 10am whilst we waited for tow truck driver to take us to Darwin. Friendly people at Adelaide river. Highly recommend this place.

The pub/tavern is expensive and lacks service. We paid $25 for a half serve parmigiana. What made it worse, was that there is no table service, not entirely unusual at taverns, but what was a 'first' for us is the fact that they expect you to return your dishes and clear them... So expensive meals, and you do half the work? Never in my life travelling Australia have I seen such a thing. I've paid less for a full-size parmigiana in remote locations and received full table service. Pick up your game, guys!
