A group of 28 of us (14 kiddies 4months - 14yrs & 14 adults) went for a 3 night and 4 day retreat to connect as a family & unwind while disconnecting from technology and the stresses of day to day. ||We arrived via helicopter transfer which was an incredible experience thanks to our Pilot Will (Ansett Aviation). You can never have enough of seeing the stunning Flood planes of Tiwi and fhe experience of flying through the clouds during sunrise. ||Arriving at the resort we were greeted by the incredible staff who made sure the kids and adults were always comfortable, hydrated and accommodated for in any way we needed. This all inclusive stay included meals, drinks and our group each got to go on a boat adventure to check crab pots which were a highlight for the younger members for sure! We also had a buggy ride and beach side fishing š£ each day as well as evening bombfires. ||The meals were extremely tasty - we honestly can't fault any of them. You can tell Lauchy the chef puts a lot of thought into creating meals that are incredibly flavoursome while showcasing locally caught fish each night among other protein dishes. Over our three nights we experienced exceptional cuisine and every single one of us (all 28!) Were happy each night! ||The staff - Kate, Shiane, Sheila, Dwain, Darcy & Racoon were great to chat with and very helpful with the kids. ||On our last night, Racoon shared his own personalised spin on the popular traditional bread "damper". I won't lie, I was expecting some plain bread that wouldn't be too flash. Boy was I wrong! He not only carefully mixed his damper with his own secret ingredients but he rolled it up in a baguette style way using native tree bark and cooked it in the fire served with jam and cream. Such simplicity yet an incredible flavour bomb! We all devoured and loved it as with everything else we had over the weekend! Racoons damper was definitely a highlight you don't want to miss!! š||We also spotted multiple crocs, sharks and dolphins over the weekend and caught various fish and crabs. ||If you're visiting the NT or if you're a local like us, don't give this place a miss. Go and wind down and re-connect with nature, you...

The entire experience from booking our visit, arranging the logistics of getting there and enjoying our time barefoot in the sand was magnificent. The food was delicious and fresh, the service staff had an impeccable focus on all the finer details delivered with a smile and the activities were professionally led by experienced and passionate guides. The accommodation was fantastic with all the modern comforts of a high end hotel. We loved every minute of our time at TIR and will be back! Thank you to Matt and Kaia Wright, JZ and Lissa for your passion and vision for creating a unique remote experience in beautiful part of Australia,...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreFrom the moment we flew in on a small plane and landed on a gravel airstrip, we knew we were in for something truly special. Tiwi Island Retreat is remote, peaceful, and filled with unforgettable moments ā like watching crocodiles glide past us in the water or enjoying seafood feasts straight from the daily catch.
Chef Lockieās food was exceptional ā fresh fish and mud crab, often caught by us that very day. Every meal was a highlight.
The retreat itself is small and beautifully run, with an intimate boutique feel. The team made us feel like family ā warm, genuine, and nothing was ever too much trouble.
Absolutely recommend for anyone craving a wild, luxurious, and totally...
