Free wifi can’t really be connected and if you are with Vodafone don’t expect any service.
Staffs friendliness and overall customer experience can really be improved on. Visitors be aware of some rules that were not advised of at the time of booking (including rooms to be left at the “same” condition at check out otherwise fee applies which was then clarified by staff that you won’t have to make your bed before leaving 😂. Took a lot of photos anyway since my experience was already bad before going into my room.
I was travelling there with 2 other friends and we have more than one car. I asked for an extra set of keys but was refused. All of us were quite annoyed by this considering we booked a 3 bedrooms cabin
Then I was told off for driving too fast within the park. I was doing less than 20kph so I would say it maybe shopping centre kinda speed (it’s gravel so naturally I don’t think anyone would want to drive fast in the area) but that’s ok I respect that, didn’t want to cause trouble and I do understand that there are seniors residing. I have had done slower since while I was looking for my cabin. Then a staff came to my cabin and said “ If it happens again, you are out of the park!”. I respect the rules but that really could be in a bit more in a polite manner. I wasn’t sure if I could find a different place at the time for all of us, otherwise I would definitely have asked for a refund so we can be out of the park ourselves.
At 9pm we realised there’s no hot water in the shower and had to move to a different cabin (I couldn’t reach the park management to begin with so sadly I was the one out of the three that needed to take a cold shower). When we had someone to check the shower for us, I was lectured about the driving speed again😅 Come on, your message was loud and clear when you said I will be out of the park if I don’t drive slow enough. Why were we going through that again?!(Then told me “we do want you to come back” like it was all fine. I had then kept my car in the visitor spot instead anyway.
Me and my friends have more than one car that could fit the allocated parking space. We politely asked if we could have adjust one more car parked at the allocated space but were refused. (The space is long enough for a trailer). Reason were because “rules are rules” and there may be some late check ins coming over night.
We checked out next morning and found the park was far from being full. (Maybe less than 5 cabins were occupied?)
Overall I found the management of Benalla Tourist Park are lacking friendliness and flexibility. I felt more like a scout being in camp or tenant rather than being a guest. Fair few of my friends visit Benalla few times a year, I will definitely share my experience with them and be “out of the park” from now on.
Edited followed by owner’s response: It’s funny how I was “observed” (big brother?) and I am now accused of being complained by residents of driving excessive speed on more than one occasion, considering I had then left my own car outside of the park followed by the drama we had to avoid further trouble with the management. Apparently, staff has a better judgement of speed than my dash cam and my Speedo. Almost ran over your staff was such a false statement consider I actually reduced the speed further when I was driving by, stopped and mentioned that I was lost looking for the right cabin. I guess we may have different definitions of running over some body in a motor vehicle or maybe it’s your way defending business by accusing the others.
Nice response and I will stay out of the park from now...
Read moreThe property was booked as it was good value for money and also catered for our group. BUT
This Property doesn't cater for Families with children! There isn't a play ground, and children cant kick the ball on the property. Our kids eventually were confined to there cabin as other guests put in a complaint about our sporting group being too noisy at 750pm on a Friday night while playing board games with the adults at the BBQ area. I explained to the Management, that maybe the website should clearly state "no sporting groups" or "no families with children in groups" so that we can find alternative accomodations. I called to let them know we were coming as a sporting group, so there were no surprises. It was just a little disappointing in that aspect. This cabin park is clearly for couples (no children) or singles not groups.
Cabin park is in a good location, not far from the Main Street. It's quiet, and the pool is nice a big. Strictly 1 car allowed to park next to the cabin but parking out the front to accommodate
Wouldn't stay again as I have...
Read moreA clean and well-maintained park, green grassy sites. Choice of drive-thru sites. Pool that was clean except for a profusion of surface leaves around mid-day. Seems another park that for some reason does not like to run the filtering system when it's needed. Bins are central to the old (closed) amenities block. Could be closer to sites. New amenity block is all separate rooms with glass-door shower, toilet, and vanity, plus good ventilation/fan. Four sites have ensuites. Huge, fully-functional, indoor camp kitchen. Key entry and exit boom gates. We booked online thru G'day parks website. That night, we decided to stay another night so booked for the next day as well. Got a slightly churlish phone call at 11am the second day asking why we had not vacated our site. Told the woman we had booked another night. Seems she had not read emails by that time. Another receptionist, Tracey, who originally booked us in was polite and extremely helpful, even suggesting the Golf Club for dinner (I can recommend it too). We...
