When I was looking for a suitable getaway for me and my wife as a part of our 25th Wedding Anniversary celebrations I came across Belle Bois quite by chance. Being only a 3 hr drive from Sydney in the Capertee Valley it ticked a few of my initial checklist boxes. I didn’t quite understand the setup until I walked into the premises and only then did we understood what was on offer. Belle Bois is essentially a luxury B & B run by the live in hostess Wendy. Wendy was such an excellent hostess. She was full of knowledge of the surrounding area of Capertee Valley and was also a superb cook. We opted to stay in and have dinner at Belle Bois for the two nights we were there. The meals I should say, were exceptional. The included breakfast was wonderful as well. There are only 3 bedrooms that can accommodate 3 couples at a time. We did in fact make good conversation with Wendy and the other guests at dinner time. The two nearby towns of Rylston and Kandos have a few restaurants as well but driving around at dusk exposes you to the risk of hitting the local wildlife such as kangaroos. We had the best weekend getaway we could hope for and Wendy was fantastic. We would definitely go back. It is ideal for a couple who are looking for a quiet getaway in a luxurious setting surrounded by nature and being looked after by a...

My husband and I stayed at Belle Bois for two nights last month and were very impressed with the quality of accommodation – super-clean rooms with luxe linens, fabulous artworks, spectacular views on all sides – and the standard of delicious meals on offer. Most of this was down to the care and culinary talents of the property owner and host, Wendy, who was friendly, knowledgable and welcoming. The home itself has a beautiful large living/dining area with central fireplace, a long communal table and lovely areas where you can just lounge and admire the scenery (and the abundant kangaroos). Even the wines available to purchase were well selected and very well priced. Wendy has a great knowledge of local highlights – the unmissable Ganguddy/Dunns Swamp, Glen Davis, Rylstone (with its amazing dumpling restaurant), wineries – and was happy to advise us on the best ways to spend our time. Whenever we arrived back at the house, there were home-baked treats, fruit and complimentary coffee to help ease any hunger pangs until it was time for our beautiful two-course dinner. When we had problems with our car, Wendy went over and above expectations to help us out. We would thoroughly recommend a stay at Belle Bois to anyone looking for wonderful scenery and true country...

Location is country quiet and very picturesque and the drive an easy 3-4 hours from CBD Sydney.

Wendy , the host , is an oracle of information and professional kindness.

We really admired how Wendy awoke before her guests and mustered the kangaroos into the paddock so we could watch nature as we had a delicious breakfast . {Ok this may not be true- but there is so much wild life to just sit and enjoy}

The food - breakfast and dinner were part of our deal. The food is a stand out - take this option and be sure you explain what you like and don't like before you go out there. If you are a foodie , you will enjoy Wendy's dishes.

The accommodation is first class, the bed and bedding are very comfortable with a choice of pillows.

There is also a shed apartment that is amazing value for people who don't care for the 5 star treatment .

Self serve expresso coffee / tea.

We stayed 3 nights and will return.

Value for money - excellent if you like the finer things , but also appreciate you are in the country .

Thank you . Gary...

We just spent an idyllic 3 days with Wendy at Belle Bois. Wendy is a super host. She is a formidable cook and served delicious dinners and breakfasts, has a wonderful wine selection and made us a super fun cocktail pre dinners. It felt more like staying at a friend's place who hosted fabulous dinner parties! Wendy somehow creates a relaxed space where it's just natural to get to know her and other guests. The bedrooms/ensuites are large and very comfortable; there is fabulous art to peruse and the expansive lounge sets a relaxed, warm and inviting space to play scrabble, read or chat. We watched the sunset behind Mount Marsden, glass of wine in hand watching the kangaroos each each evening on the terrace. Perfect wind down after a day of exploring. The surrounding area is stunning with loads to discover and explore and Wendy goes above and beyond to recommend and guide you to find all the special spots. Who knew this extraordinary valley was so close to Sydney. In every way our stay was a very happy surprise.

We had the most wonderful stay at Belle Bois, our base to discover the Capertee Valley National Park. We enjoyed the gorgeous views from our room, Wendy’s home-cooked meals and the peaceful atmosphere in this luxurious boutique accommodation with only a small number of rooms. The rooms are spacious, immaculate, nicely furnished and quiet. Upon arrival, a fire and a home-baked cake awaited us, and we then went for a walk around the extensive property, which is filled with kangaroos and many interesting birds. Wendy cooks excellent dinners (which you can pair with a bottle of excellent local wines) and breakfasts, and also prepared a great packed lunch for us so that we could explore the area all day (as there are no options to purchase lunch in or near the national park). Belle Bois is the perfect spot for a luxurious and peaceful stay in this beautiful area, secluded yet not difficult to get to from Sydney (or Mudgee or Newcastle). We are looking forward to visiting again soon!
