I want to give this place 6 stars!
I don't usually write such detailed reviews, but I wanted to share my experience at Bombah Point Eco Cottages because it was so special. This is the perfect getaway, only and hour and a quarter from Newcastle, but feels like you have stepped into a remote part of the world.
Everything about our trip was brilliant. The new owners Lauren and Clint are so warm and welcoming. They made us feel at home right away, and nothing was too much trouble. I think they have been there a couple of months now and they are really passionate about the place and their guests.
The cottage we stayed in is stunning, and really well appointed. They have thought of everything: the fireplace was ready to go and only needed a single match to light. The beds are luxurious and comfortable. The folding window around the bath opens up onto the beautiful private forest. The bluetooth speaker linked easily to our phones. The kitchen has everything we needed and more including sharp knives and a good frying pan. We even loved the chairs so much we want to get some of our own! Waking up surrounded by pristine peaceful forest, and having a quiet coffee on the wrap around verandah was bliss.
We had a chance to walk around the entire property, a wildlife refuge covered with stunning forest. There are wallabies, whip birds, black cockatoos, brush turkeys, and we've heard there are koalas in the area too. We stopped on a rocky outcrop for snacks and admired the view in perfect tranquility. We also stopped by the orchard and chicken pen on the way back and picked up some fresh laid eggs and herbs. And then we drove 2 kms down the road to the local lake. Clint had dropped some kayaks down for us and we had a magic paddle on the lake, watching sea eagles fly along the tree-covered shoreline.
We will definitely be going back. Can't wait for...
Read moreIn July 2023, we had a three-day team planning retreat at Bombah Point Eco Cottages. It was the perfect place for it! ||We stayed in the cosy but spacious cabins with breath-taking views through large glass windows over the surrounding bushland. The cabins were tastefully decorated and well-appointed from the stylish and functional kitchens to the extremely comfortable and luxe bedding. Due to our busy work schedule, we didn’t get time to enjoy all that the cabins offered. I wished we could have had more time relaxing in front of the pot belly fire or luxuriating in the spa bath. We’ll just have to come back in a private capacity another time to enjoy those features! ||The breakfast hampers were generous and delicious, featuring lots of fresh garden produce. Our ever-helpful hosts organised catering to be delivered for lunch and dinner, and that was delicious and plentiful too.||Each day our team gathered in the communal lounge area to do our work. It was the perfect space to do some serious planning, including focused conversations around the table, brainstorming on the white boards, and calling in other staff on Zoom using the in-house television screen. The wood fire made the space nice and cosy on those cold July days. The fabulous espresso machine kept the coffee flowing, and we enjoyed the warm sun on the veranda during break-out sessions. ||The team from Bombah Point Eco Cottages could not have been more friendly and accommodating, even organising a kayak trip and a team yoga session. ||I can thoroughly recommend this beautiful eco-friendly establishment as a brilliant place for your next team...
Read moreMy husband and I stayed at this gorgeous place for our 10-year wedding anniversary. We were welcomed so warmly by the hosts, Lauren and Clint, and were blown away by the beauty of the property, it is such a special piece of land. We felt so private and secluded, our cabin was surrounded by trees, and we didn’t hear anything except birdsong all day - it was as if we were in our own little world for the weekend. The cabins are beautifully designed, lots of luxury touches, super well-appointed (we always expect there won’t be good saucepans, or sharp knives, or a grater or whatever, but these cabins have EVERYTHING), and we wanted for nothing. We kept the log fire roaring over the chilly nights so we were always toasty (Lauren kindly gave us a tutorial!), and spent the days on the wraparound veranda in the sunshine, reading in the hammock, bushwalking, and our favourite afternoon we spent kayaking at sunset. We’ll be back, this place is unique, stunning,...
