I recently had the opportunity to visit Clandulla with the new owner, Matt, for the second time. This time, I decided to invite some friends along, and I must say, it was an unforgettable experience.
One of the highlights of our trip was the opportunity for the kids to actively participate in feeding the animals on the farm not just once, but twice a day. It was heartwarming to see the joy on their faces as they interacted with the animals and learned about their care and feeding routines.
The shared facilities at Clandulla were also exceptional. We particularly enjoyed having a fire each night, where we could gather around and roast marshmallows. It created a cozy and inviting atmosphere for everyone to relax and enjoy each other's company.
Since our last stay 9 months ago there had been additional animals join the farm. It was evident that Farmer Matt had put in a lot of effort to expand the variety of animals on the farm, making the experience even more exciting.
I cannot speak highly enough of Farmer Matt. His patience and enthusiasm with the kids were commendable. He engaged with them in a way that not only entertained but also educated them. The children learned a great deal from him, and it was evident that he genuinely cared about their experience at the farm.
Overall, our visit to Clandulla with the new owner, Matt, was nothing short of amazing. The kids had a blast, the shared facilities were fantastic, and the addition of new animals made the experience even more memorable. I would highly recommend Clandulla to anyone looking for a fun and educational...
Read moreThis is our second trip to Clandulla and our experience was just as incredible, if not more so.! Matt and Nambok have created such a beautiful farmstay experience and our group of 8 people loved every minute.
In our previous stay, we had a group of 15 people so we had the farm to ourselves. This time around, we only had 8, so we stayed with families we didn't know. This wasn't an issue and there was plenty of space for everyone to enjoy the experience. Our kids made new friends and there were plenty of animals for the kids to feed and cuddle.
Matt is so incredible with the kids and no question (whether it's been asked once or four times) is too much. He has such a beautiful bond with his animals and it's so obvious to see in how comfortable they are with him and with us as visitors.
The accommodation is well appointed and other than food and clothes, you can literally bring yourselves. Everything has been thought of to make the experience as easy as possible. We were lucky enough to stay in the new Hibiscus House and it was so comfortable and cosy, even in the middle of winter.
Each of our kids had a different favourite animal and have all taken show and tell to kindy and school to share with their friends. Marhsmallow the chicken, Herbie the cow and Casper the Horse are just a few of our favourites. Boots the lamb nearly made it back home with us ....

Read moreWe searched far and wide for our first farmstay experience, and I can genuinely say that Clandulla Cottages blew us away - and is probably the best there is out there. What an incredible place to come with family, and I feel deeply privileged our family were able to experience this.
What made it truly stand out was the incredible warmth and patience shown by farmer Matt. He has such a natural, gentle way with children that our initially hesitant son soon felt confident enough to interact with the animals—and even looked forward to the twice-daily feeds with excitement.
Some of our favourite moments include: Leading Abbott the pony for a walk (a huge hit!), feeding and brushing the beautiful horses Casper and Nakota, giving belly rubs to the ever-charming Tofu the pig, and quietly stroking the gentle cows—Herbie, Murray, and Roger. Every animal here is calm, friendly, and clearly very loved. There’s a sense of harmony and care that runs through the entire farm.
We stayed in Hibiscus House, which was cozy, welcoming, and thoughtfully equipped with everything we needed. The two BBQs—one outside and one under the patio for rainy days—were such a practical and appreciated touch.
This isn’t just a place to stay; it’s a place that gently invites you to slow down, connect, and make core memories with your family. We left with full hearts and a deep sense of gratitude. A truly special spot we’ll carry with us for a long...
