Kavillo Studios — Hotel in Buckaroo

We couldn't have asked for a better place to stay visiting Mudgee from Sydney. The studio is beautifully designed and curated and it feels very special. The rammed earth walls, bathroom tiles, the furniture, even the mugs - every detail is considered and there are lots of unique, creative touches, like the scuptures, stone bedside table and raw timber coffee table (you can actually purchase these designs from the owners). It's a little slice of heaven and they have thought of everything you might need, including a huge, comfortable bed-with-a-view. We loved being just outside of Mudgee (thought it's still conveniently close) surrounded by nature. It's peaceful, relaxing and private and I loved being able to sit outside with a coffee or wine, listen to all the birds and enjoy being surrounded by the countryside. My husband surprised me with a birthday trip to Mudgee and booked the Kavillo Studio for two nights—and what an unforgettable experience it was! From the moment we arrived, we were in awe of the stunning architecturally designed space. Every detail, from the bespoke furniture to the handcrafted decor pieces, reflects the heart and soul Emma and Michael have poured into this project.

It was truly an inspirational stay, and we appreciated the artistry and care that went into creating such an extraordinary retreat. We loved it so much that we extended our stay for two more nights because we simply didn’t want to leave.

The various textures and details of the space, give it the most amazing sense of style and comfort. We enjoyed a staycation here for our wedding anniversary. So conveniently located 7km north of Mudgee, you can access some of the regions finest restaurants and wineries, whilst feeling a million miles for anywhere.
