Broome Vacation Village Caravan Park — Hotel in Cable Beach

Of course everywhere in Broome is expensive, that’s a given. Putting that aside, this caravan park is not bad at all. What we liked: mature trees all over the place, beautiful pool area, excellent camp kitchen with free gas BBQs, helpful staff with a can-do attitude. What we would love to see improved: the sites are a very mixed bag. You may get a beautiful grassy site with your own palm trees, or if you’re booking at shorter notice, you may get a tiny dusty site cheek by jowl with another caravan. Some of the sites in the South campground are extremely tight to manoeuvre in/out of, and give you just enough space to open your awning before you touch the next van. Another thing that would make this site better is to heat the pool. In dry season not many people seem to use it because it’s so cold. Refreshing on a super hot day but only until your lips go blue 15 minutes later. Adding more washing machines to the south campsite would be good because there were people queuing their bags of laundry up from 7am to use them. And finally it would be good to have a little extra lighting for the picnic bench eating/BBQ area in the South campground. Room was very spacious, comfortable and clean. However, the bathroom was very small and restrictive! The hand basin is so tiny, you cannot wash your face without getting water all over the floor! Also, having 2 separate taps for hot and cold water is very dated and inconvenient! I can't understand how just about the whole cabin has been renovated, but the bathroom basin is still something from the dark ages!|Booking.com information said there was an oven in the cabin, but there wasn't. Disappointing!!|The worst thing of all was the location! Having had our car break down and having to be without a car for 7 days was a nightmare!! There is no public transport at this end of Broome, even though there's a bus stop out the front.......apparently buses don't stop here anymore! Catching a taxi was so expensive ($28 for a 6 min drive) that we were forced to stay at the caravan park for 3 days which was very frustrating!! Management is horrible.|Gardeners are nosey.|I highly recommend to not book in at Vacation village Broome as they will enter property you are renting without consent.|Managers are nice at the beginning but become nasty at the end of the lease no matter how early your rent is paid, how tidy and clean you keep the property , follow all rules JO the manager to be exact will always have nasty words for you.Never have an adult conversation and keep calm, always gets heated and wants to be the only one heard.|Vacation village managers Brad and Jo are highly racist, as I have spoken to neighbours of another skin colour and they said they did not have to pay as much bond as I did (Bond I did not get back at all , even paid for a exit clean).
