We booked weeks in advance and had been looking forward to a lovely farm stay weekend with our 3 yr old. We arrived and notice a lot of construction was happening around the main building (images attached), not the most attractive views from our room and other areas of the farm. No mention of construction on their website or on their arrival information which we feel was very dishonest and misleading.

We were then taken to our room which had a very toxic smell, almost like the room had wet paint on the walls, but stronger. We explained the issue to the host and after lengthy discussions, she finally admitted to the cast iron fireplace which they lit for us (lovely touch), was spray painted 2 days earlier and had not been used since. The reason given was that some ‘’idiot last guests, placed something on the top, which melted and damaged the fireplace’’ her words!. I totally get that and that you would want to repair this, but to then sell that room with that smell was completely wrong. It also detailed in the rooms useful information folder, that the property was new and mentioned that it would be fully competed by April 2022, clearly this was also not true either.

She explained we would not be charged for the room and we would therefore have to find alternative accomodation at 5.30pm on mother’s day weekend, thanks for nothing! Think again when deciding to choose this accomodation for your next holiday, there are plenty of other great...

Awesome stay with very hospitable staff It’s a definitely perfect retreat and super relax experience! Here you can do everything you want to fulfill yourself. ROOMS: very spacious, cozy and stylish. The room is divided into two zones: bed block and entrance with a sofa and a coffee table. Every room is equipped with a big fridge, teapot, coffee beans. There is also a chimney in the room for your hygge stay:) Big bathroom with a shower. Near the room there is a relax zone with chairs and tables - here you can have away break or just chill. LOCATION: directly under the stars! If it’s not cloudy you can see stars and some planets from the terrace. FOOD: the restaurant works until 3pm, we’ve had an awesome breakfast there. Menu isn’t big, but you’ll find something for you. They also can prepare anything you want. Portions are big and all meals were very tasty! There are a local plantation - so, all vegetables and berries are natural and organic. FACILITIES: good wi-fi, barbecue zone (gas), many open zones where you can chill or make a fire (if you want, the stuff for that is provided), small shop with local products, soft beverages and wines, some desserts. There hotel located next to the forest - so, you can take a 7km round walk through it or also there is an opportunity to rent a horse for it. STAFF: very very hospitable and friendly, here you feel like at home! You’ll 100% would like to...

We had a wonderful two-night stay at Canyonleigh Retreat in a family room with three girlfriends, and it was just perfect! The room was beautifully presented with lovely decor, comfortable beds, and high-quality linen that made for a restful sleep. Kush, Issy, and the rest of the team were fantastic—friendly, welcoming, and incredibly helpful, making us feel right at home. The setting is tranquil and peaceful, a perfect escape to enjoy nothing but the sounds of nature. We loved exploring the beautiful woodland walk on the property and were lucky enough to catch a fabulous sunset—just breathtaking. All our meals were from Audrey’s Café onsite, and they were absolutely delicious. We enjoyed breakfast there both mornings, and evening treats delivered to our room added a lovely touch to our stay. We booked direct and were rewarded with a lovely bottle of wine on arrival, which made us feel instantly welcomed. The location is ideal—peacefully tucked away, yet close enough to explore the abundance of wineries and quaint historic towns just a short drive away. We had a fantastic time and couldn’t recommend Canyonleigh Retreat highly enough. We’ll definitely be returning!
