Giving them 1 star for the nice, and neat state of the room.
Customer service however is practically non-existent. My partner and I had stayed here a night before the lockdown in SA was called, and had another night to go. Whenever we went to reception to try and get help with anything after booking in, it was always unmanned and no one was around. Attempts to call the provided number were never answered (even with a sign saying the reception was supposed to be manned form 8am to 8pm), even with us going there around 4pm, 5pm, 6pm and 10am the next morning.
Once the lockdown was called and we had to go home (as all holiday accommodations also needed to be closed), I attempted to talk to the owners about possibly getting a credit for our last night to reuse with another purchase night again in the future. I got told that basically this wasn't going to happen, as I had used a Groupon voucher to pay for the stay. Look, in any other circumstances, if a customer was wanting to leave early and demanding a refund, I can understand not giving it to them. But as we were literally going into a lockdown and had no choice, I feel some leyway should have been given. Not that I could talk much to the management staff about this, as when we went to do so, again the office was unmanned and we were forced to call through three or so times before we finally got ahold of any one. Which is an absolute shame given the fact this place looked...
Read more-Stayed here for one night prior to our ferry to Kangaroo Island the following morning. -The cottage itself is very spacious and it was clean, but it is very dated. The bed was not comfortable with a very firm mattress. |-You cannot drink the water so be sure to bring AMPLE bottled water to drink. There is a vending machine to buy water, I initially tried to use a paper bill and it wouldn't accept it, luckily I had some change and was able to get a bottle of water. Reception was not available when I was trying to get the vending machine to work.|-On sight parking available|-Overall, it was a clean and safe place to spend the night, but I would not want to spend more than one night in this place because of how uncomfortable to mattress was. |-there is NOTHING open in the evenings near by, so if you are getting in late, my tip is to get take away in Adelaide and stock up on food prior to coming. We checked in around 7pm and it was a ghost town upon arrival, but luckily had stocked up in Adelaide prior to arriving. |-Overall stay was just OK. For what you get for the price, I think it is fine, and again it was fine for what we needed it for, which was one night prior...
Read moreAbsolutely loved this place. Small group of individual units! Bright, modern and very comfy! The owners/managers and staff are all lovely with good local knowledge. The welcome basket that includes first mornings breakfast is fabulous. All your tea/coffee and basic condiment needs for cooking are provided. Beds really comfortable! Good place to stay the night before travelling over to Kangaroo Island ( and or on the way back ). Or soend a few nights and explore this beautiful part of the South Australian coast! We were fortunate to be given a gift voucher in the shoulder season for our stay but even full price in the height of the summer season is good value considering everything that is provided. A real treat was the quiet evenings sitting on the porch amongst the trees listening to the birds settling! There is also a nice BBQ area, childrens play area and a stainless steel fish cleaning spot! Highly recommend this as a great family and pet friendly...
