On the plus side. Such a secluded and peaceful spot. BHV are very private, quiet and have a fabulous outlook over the rolling hills. We stayed in Villa 5, a 3 bedroom villa where cows could be heard mooing and you were welcome to take a walk across the fields to visit them. The stars at night are plentiful without any light pollution to dilute them|The pool at the top of the complex is great and there is also a tennis court, although we didn't use this.|The resident dogs Arnie and Atlas are just beautiful, Arnie even wandered into our villa one afternoon for a visit. |The villa is well appointed for self catering and also a lot of little 'extras' such as mosquito coils are provided. |Little villages such as Clunes and Bangalow are very close by, with restaurants and shops catering to most basic needs.||On the downside, If booking this villa, be aware. The third bedroom is co-located with the laundry underneath the villa proper and can only be accessed externally. There are no bathroom facilities for this bedroom, other than what is contained within the villa. In my opinion, the third bedroom is not suitable accommodation for children younger than mid teens.|There was also an over abundance of spider webs both inside and outside the villa. I found a massive spider in the wardrobe of the main bedroom and from the looks of the web, it had been living there for quite some time. I guess that is why there was a new bottle of insect spray in the...
Read moreBetween myself and friends, we have stayed in more than a dozen accommodation venues in and around Byron, for a month or more at a time. Byron hinterland villas are the only ones that were clean. Can you believe it? In others, that cost $500 pet night, we would have to spend hours cleaning the premises, the filters in the air cons. Just to breathe easy and sleep well. Here we didn't have to lift a finger.
One of the other things that separate it from the others, is that everything worked, dishwasher, air con, laundry, everything worked as it should.
The landscaping is meticulous. There is good separation between villas. I stayed in an attached one bedroom villa. The front door and rear balcony we're completely private. I was there for weeks and never saw nor heard my neighbour.
The location is ideal, close enough to Byron, Mullumbimby, Lismore and Bangalow to head out and have a great time and close enough to head back for the peace and tranquillity of nature. You can't even hear traffic.
The views are expansive, beautiful and inspiring. The elevation is enough to ensure a breeze, even on the still days.
There is a refreshing creek with swimming hole, pool, tennis court.
Without a doubt, this is the best location and accommodation that I have experienced in the Northern Rivers.
It exemplifies the difference between accommodation broker managed and on-site owner managed. Everything is done right, all I had to do, was...
