Copeton Dam itself was amazing. We can’t believe how big it is, unfortunately we didn’t get to do any fishing. The Park looks good especially around the main entrance, nice facilities & kids playground. We booked a pet friendly cabin & were told that our dog was allowed inside but when we got there all the info says “absolutely no pets in cabins”! It was however fully fenced & had a kennel & water bowl. The cabin itself looked like a throwback to the 1930’s & that appeared to be the last time it was cleaned. Doors hanging off in the kitchen, floor was filthy & sticky. Frypan & cutlery were covered in grease & had to be scrubbed in order to use them. Windows, sills & blinds looked like they had never been cleaned & had the cobwebs to prove it. The ceiling fan had 1/4 inch of dust on it. Mildew in the bathroom & when the sliding door was closed it revealed mould along the bottom. There were no downpipes outside so water just flows onto the walls which were rotting out. The BBQ out the front was so dirty we couldn’t use it, even though the sign says to please leave it clean the park should still be checking to make sure they are actually clean. The garbage bins were not labeled as general waste or recycling so everything was being put into them. The state of the cabins is a terrible reflection on Reflections Caravan Park & unless they have some major renovations we will not be staying there again. We will however return to Copeton Dam & stay in Inverell.

Great spot, $15 per car entry + camping fees. Copeton Dam is a popular inland sport and recreation destination near Inverell, offering year-round attractions for water sports and fishing enthusiasts, nature lovers, bushwalkers, campers and picnickers. The large lake’s extensive foreshores are home to a recently upgraded holiday park. The main purpose of the dam is to supply irrigation, stock and household needs in the Gwydir Valley, and environmental flows to the Gwydir Wetlands. A dam on the Gwydir River was proposed as early as they 1930s to improve town water supplies and boost agricultural production in the Gwydir Valley. World War II and subsequent shortage of funds halted further investigations. It was 1966 before a final site was chosen and construction began in 1968. Cotton was one of the main crops to benefit from the availability of irrigation, as well as lucerne, cereals, oilseed, pecans, wheat and vegetables. The dam also provides environmental flows to the Gwydir Wetlands near Moree. In addition to irrigated agriculture and environmental flows, the dam provides water for Inverell and other town supplies, industry and domestic requirements, flood mitigation and recreation. A 21 megawatt hydroelectric power station uses summer irrigation, environmental flows and flood mitigation.

Our stay at Copton waters was very disappointing as we had a large family gathering for Xmas .The first night staying there toilets blocked and overflowing with sewage therefore closed to the public .Family wanted to play golf could not play as the greens were overgrown .Tennis courts had grass growing on it and had water lying in areas ,most of ammenities including kiosk were not clean & smelt.Reflections have really let themselves down as most parks are clean tidy and very enjoyable when paying for a powered site you expect more from such a known establishment .The phone service also needs to be addressed as there really isn’t any.

Recently travelled down from QLD and had a family gathering with our local family at Reflections Holiday Parks Copeton Waters. I was really looking forward to staying at Copeton Dam after hearing my partner and his family rave on about how brilliant the place was.

I must admit I was absolutely disgusted with the state of the cabins and their cleanliness on arrival because the cabins were filthy! Cobwebs in every corner of the cabin, grease/fat on the top of cupboards, pubic hairs in the shower. It was like no one had been to clean between guests.

We had a cabin booked for 5 people (4 adults and 1 toddler). The double bed was made on arrival, the bunk beds weren’t ready and there was no linen provided, despite the booking being for 5 guests. We also had to pay an additional fee of $20per person, per night for 3 people and $15 per vehicle. We were rather puzzled by this additional fee per person, considering the cabin sleeps 7 people and there was only 5 of us.

We spent two nights (Nov 11 & Nov 12) and checked out on the Sunday morning after our toddler enjoyed the water park for a couple of hours before heading back to QLD.

Prior to checking out we cleaned the cabin to avoid your additional cleaning fee, only to find a mouldy, bloody towel under the bunk bed in the corner of the room. It stunk and I’m unsure as to how long it was there as it was covered in dust and cobwebs.

Overall, our stay was very underwhelming and I’d be very surprised if we were to attend again, which is disappointing as my partner and his family have literally been attending this place for decades and are a well respected family...

Location 10/10 Service - Not amazing, staff are very abrupt and rude towards customers, one man (staff) was swearing at patrons having a family picnic, don't arrive a min early because they will not open the door. Kiosk - overpriced for what is there majority home brand upsell is high. Kitchen never open if it's quiet we don't cook we were told yet kitchen had a sign stating hours of work. Cabins - (Deluxe 6 pack) OVER PRICED,Dirty, sand under feet marks all over walls and roof of bunk beds, stains over the bunk bed mattress protectors x3 out of 4. Double bed had blood stains on quilt beneath a fitted sheet. Not adequately proportioned utensils. 6 people had one dinner plate 3 side plates and 2 bowls 3 forks and 50 butter knives. No toilet paper, not enough towels or linen. Everything bar the fridge was unpleasant with either grease or sandy dirt. Laundry - great functional service adequately priced. I would highly recommend a day trip or camping at copeton the location is gorgeous, breathtaking even, the atmosphere of most guests is wonderful. The staff lack people skills, the tidiness and cleanliness of the place has gone to wrack and ruin. I do hope the owner/manager can rectify certain areas as this is a wonderful place and deserves a better wrap but unfortunately 2024 has taken a toll on the trip and I won't be back, sad to say as I've been annually for a week and a half since 2016. This year was the worst trip goodluck Reflections, I'd personally reflect what you want for this reserve because right now...
