Delicate Campground near Crescent Head proved to be a fantastic spot for our first camping trip with our dog. It's a dog-friendly site, and we were pleased to find that dogs are allowed off-leash on the beach—although we didn’t take advantage of this since our dog’s recall isn’t quite there yet lol. The beach itself is a massive expanse of golden sand with crystal-clear waters, making it a perfect place for a peaceful stroll. It remains shallow for quite a while so its great for encouraging dogs to swim as they can get far in while still standing, and play in the waves.

The campground was quite busy when we arrived on Saturday, but by Monday, it had significantly cleared out. Almost every camper had a dog, so I’d recommend bringing a gazebo with privacy walls if your dog is easily distracted by other dogs. The atmosphere was friendly and welcoming, with everyone at ease. There were a lot of RV campers during our stay, but we camped in a tent.

Fires are allowed, but only in off-the-ground braziers, which are available for rent. While I understand the reason for this, I personally prefer campgrounds with built-in fire pits.

We forgot some food and the proximity to Crescent Head was very helpful - it was great to explore as well! One side of Delicate Campground does boarder the road down to Point Plummer - you do notice the cars but they didn't pass very often.

While Delicate Campground is a great option if you're traveling with a dog, if you don’t need a dog-friendly site, I would recommend looking at other options in the area. Overall it was a great experience, we had an...

I recently stayed at Delicate Campground and had an amazing experience! The campground is beautifully situated near a stunning beach, which is perfect for relaxing and enjoying the natural surroundings. The place itself is well-maintained and offers a peaceful atmosphere.

One thing to note is that the campground only has bore water available, so you need to be self-sufficient and bring your own drinking water and supplies. However, this didn't detract from the overall experience at all. In fact, it added to the charm and sense of adventure.

Overall, Delicate Campground is a fantastic spot for anyone looking to unwind and connect with nature. Highly...

A very cute little camp ground with nooks and cranny’s to park up for an illusion of privacy. Generally populated by silver nomads, families and to our surprise a group of baby chicks, who we thoroughly enjoyed watching cheep about the site, which is why dogs needed to be kept on leads. The cockerel woke us up in the morning which was actually really nice! It’s right on the most beautiful beach, with a fantastic view of delicate nobby- definitely not swim safe. Only shower is one that’s public, outside with less than ideal privacy. But the overall vibes here are very cute and friendly. A nice man and his young daughter patrol the site. We would...

Campground and amenities were clean and though fully booked, I did not find it to be overcrowded despite not having allocated sites. Staff were friendly and nonintrusive. Beautiful campground with lots of trees and picnic tables. Bins provided. The beach is pristine and little kids can play in the flats but I wouldn't recommend it as a swimming beach as the water was quite rough and unpatrolled. Best part was having our dog with us by the camp fire. Stars were amazing. Only complaint would be that it's right by the road. That said we were there at peak and there weren't too many cars going by.

Great campground in a National Park. Dogs are welcome—on leash within the campground and off leash on the beach. Amenities are well looked after by staff, with clean toilets, a cold beach shower, and bins at the entrance. Non-potable water is also available. Sites aren’t allocated, but there’s plenty of space, though it can get busy on weekends. Overall, an excellent spot whether for an overnighter or a longer stay.

Really nice campsite. Was booked out on the nights we were there but there was plenty of room for everyone to fit and have their own spaces. Campsite is only a few metres from the beach, and the beach is really nice with nice rock features and it is decently big. Campfires are allowed, but only in braziers. You can hire for $5 when you check-in. There are decently nice showers and toilets given the locations.
