The Cove Tasmania — Hotel in Devonport

The Cove is an absolutely stunning property, perfectly situated by the ocean in a safe and convenient location. I spent 4 nights here, and every moment was filled with warmth, love, and the soothing sounds of the ocean, birds, and the cutest little penguins. Waking up to these sounds each morning was exactly what I had hoped for from this trip, and I received that and so much more!

Kim, the property owner, is one of the kindest people I’ve ever met. She prepared the most delicious vegetable soup for the guests in the evening, and I enjoyed two bowls of it—each sip bringing back memories of home. Kim took the time to get to know me, sharing stories about our travels. She even lit a fire just for me so I could enjoy the stunning property views while staying warm, checking in multiple times to ensure I was comfortable and had everything I needed. Traveling solo can be daunting, but Kim made me feel so cared for, more like family than a guest. I also had the pleasure of meeting Kim’s son Kurt, who was equally delightful, humble, and kind. When my flight to get back home was canceled, forcing me to extend my stay by a night, the warmth, love, and care shown by everyone at the property was truly touching. This wonderful family made me feel like a part of their own, ensuring I was happy, warm, and well looked after. Kim’s genuine care for her guests is evident in everything she does, and I would return in a heartbeat just to spend more time with her!

Jodie, the lovely human at reception, went above and beyond to make my stay comfortable. She drove me to the city and back, gave me a tour of the property when I checked in, and made sure I had everything I needed. No request was too much for her, and she handled everything with such grace and positive energy. When my flight was canceled, Jodie provided comfort and reassurance during a stressful time. The level of service she provided was far beyond what one would expect, making me feel truly special. She is an invaluable asset to The Cove.

Rocky, whom I met while he was working at the property, offered to make me two cups of coffee and kept checking in on me with the warmest smile. I gave him a big hug before leaving because, in such a short time, he made me feel so valued. I will definitely miss him!

Jezz, who I finally met upon checkout, is another gem at The Cove. We ended up chatting for an hour before I headed to the airport, and her positive energy and commitment to customer service are simply wonderful. Yet another reason why this property is so special.

Overall, The Cove felt like home, and my time here was unforgettable. I can’t recommend this property enough for couples and solo travelers like myself who are looking to unwind, relax, and have a great time. The pictures don’t do justice to how beautiful this place is—go see it for yourself and book a stay! I’m already looking forward to returning, not just for the stunning property but for the amazing people who run it.

HANDS DOWN THE ABSOLUTE BEST ACCOMODATION/ EXPERIENCE IN AUSTRALIA! My partner and I booked my ‘birthday’ holiday to explore Tasmania, on arrival at The Cove we were provided a private tour of the estate and all of the amenities. We were absolutely blown away by all of the amazing activities that were inclusive of the paid stay; Pool Table, Penguin Experiences, MANY games, therapy pods, outdoor swings, outdoor fire pit and beautiful walking tracks to viewing decks! My ‘birthday’ accomodation turned out to be a planned engagement so obviously being the absolute best accomodation in Australia we decided that The Cove was with out a doubt the place to hold our future wedding! Kim was absolutely amazing, being the owner she would certainly be incredibly busy but she took the time to congratulate us and go through all of the details/ options for our future wedding. I also really wanted to do the farm experience however this was originally cancelled due to continued rainfall and bad weather HOWEVER one of the reception ladies and Bruce came through and provided us with our own private farm tour/experience.
