Eden Motel — Hotel in Eden

As motels go this is easily the best I’ve ever stayed in. Spotlessly clean, comfortable and efficient. Our room had a comfortable large king size bed. The kitchenette was well equipped with microwave, toaster, fridge freezer and even a sandwich maker. Bathroom and shower were a generous size. The owner / managers Holly and Scott were super friendly and helpful. There is a guest laundry and a heated indoor swimming pool plus gym. Within 8 minutes walk of the motel you can be strolling the boardwalk beside a sea fed lagoon teeming with wildlife. If you are into your birds you are in for a treat. I saw spoonbills, cormorants, oyster catchers, pied shags and a dazzling blue wren all within a stones throw of the motel. If you walk a little further you get to the stunning Aslings beach where we were treated to a raptor hunting dispaly by a White Bellied Sea Eagle. There are plenty of good inland walks in the local area and Holly was able to recommend the Pinnicles loop and Story’s Trail where we saw Rainbow Lorikeets and dozens of crested cockatoos. On every local walk you are accompanied by the call of the bellbird. Whale watching trips go daily from the local quayside during the whale watching season. Several wildlife photographers were staying at the motel during our stay.

I totally recommend this little gem of a motel as a base for exploring this stretch of the beautiful sapphire coast. It’s great value for money and everything is delivered to high standards. The room was superb, perhaps the best room I've stayed in for quite some time! It was very clean, spacious, functional, and equipped with items lacking in other motels. It had a kettle, toaster, cutlery, chopping board, bowls, plates, and a microwave. The tea and coffee facilities were excellent also - coffee (Moccona), tea (Lipton), with shortbread cookies also provided.

There was neat little gym, a clean heated indoor pool with toilets and change rooms close by - meaning you didn't need to keep going to the room. The staff also supplied towels for the pool. There was a clean, FREE large electric BBQ, with chairs and tables nearby and the necessary cleaning products and a kettle to clean it down afterwards.

My experience with this Motel was an easy 10/10! Every little detail - these guys thought of it. From the cleanliness of the room, the to size and position of furnishings within, I couldn't fault a single thing. The TV is pretty large for a motel but the and very new, but sadly not smart TV's, so you could watch the free to air, but couldn't stream. That was the only thing this place didn't have. Check-in was smooth and efficient, with a minor payment issue that was resolved quickly and not the fault of the motel. Reception staff were friendly and helpful throughout our stay.

Motel is pet-friendly, offering complimentary poop bags—a thoughtful touch. Note there’s an additional $20 per pet per night fee. We didn’t use the pool or gym, but amenities appeared well-maintained.

Room 2 was spacious and included a kitchenette. The aqua blue towels added a refreshing pop of colour. The bed was comfortable initially, though by the second night it began to lose shape, leaning toward the softer side. Bedding was lightweight and more suited to summer; we relied on the aircon’s heating function, which was impressively quiet and effective. The shower pressure was great, a waterfall style and heated to blistering which my partner enjoyed.

Being closer to the road, Room 2 had some traffic noise—light sleepers may prefer rooms further from the street. Bike rentals from reception were a highlight at $75 per day, including helmets and locks. After a few hours exploring Eden’s hills, it was more than enough, they do offer half day rates.
