As we wanted to spend time at 80 mile beach we stayed two nights at the park. The location is brilliant, just a few seconds to the beach. The camp itself is basic. Clean amenities, but quite old. Same for the camp kitchen. We thought it's a bit pricey for an unpowered site but I guess as nothing else is around that's what they can charge. Sadly our site had no shade at all, we had to sit close to the car the whole day to not get sunburned. But I guess that's just what it is? When we first arrived, we had a little "incident". Right before the park is a small hill and we passed it a bit too fast (with "fast" I mean 10 km/h). One of the rangers got really angry with us. We apologised instantly and slowed down, but for some reason he started following us around. When we checked in, he waited outside in his golf kart, staring at us. Afterwards he followed us to our site, doing the same. Constantly shaking his had as if we did something serious wrong. I get it, we went a bit too fast, but honestly, we weren't even on the campsite, absolutely no people are up there so I didn't get why he overreacted that much. Our whole stay he didn't greeted us, even though we said "hello" everytime he passed. And he passed a lot. The rangers are driving around in their golf karts looking at people the whole day. However, we really enjoyed 80 mile beach. The sunset is stunning, one of the best we've seen in Australia! Definitely...

The caravan park is amazingly green with grass everywhere and the staff really keep it all neat and tidy. The power goes off a couple of times a day and you need to not abuse the power usage as the generators can trip out. No dogs allowed but the beach access is only 20 m away and you can go for 22km North or 8km South before you strike some natural challenges to get around. The fishing on high tide is awesome- but the fish are size and bag number limited - let tyres down to 20psi if in heavy 4WD and spend a day on the beach. Swimming not suggested as when you see what they catch (lots of sharks) in milky water- you never know what you will be stepping on.
The caravan sites are best booked via G’Day website and the shop has essentials if you forget anything- Sandfire Roadhouse is about 40km North and the fuel is expensive- but sausage rolls...
Read moreI stopped in here to do some IT work for management. I had an amazing experience at this Caravan park, making it an instant favourite of mine. The park offers spacious and level grassy sites that are well-maintained. The amenities are spotlessly clean, adding to the overall appeal. The guest Wi-Fi works a treat. One of the best aspects is its proximity to the beach, providing a picturesque setting for a relaxing stay.
The dirt road leading to the park is easily manageable, especially if you're planning to explore the area with a 4WD vehicle. It opens up exciting opportunities for off-road adventures along the beautiful beach. The 2 hour walk I took on the beach at sunset was magic.
In terms of dining, I ordered a delicious chicken parmi for dinner from the kiosk (must get in early to order), and it truly satisfied my taste buds.
If you're planning a road trip along the upper northwest coast, I highly recommend booking a lengthy day stay at this Caravan park. It allows ample time to soak in the tranquillity and serenity of the...
