My wife and I have been visiting either the Rosby Guesthouse or the Studio for 10 years now. Both have always been very comfortable and well appointed. In particular the kitchen is well stocked and all your needs for breakfast and working in the kitchen are covered. A trip into the garden often yields fresh vegetables and the on-site chickens keep the house well stocked in just-laid eggs. The Norton-Knights are welcoming and always happy to help. It is well situated for exploring the Mudgee area. Having said that there are many reasons just to stay put. The views are expansive, green and relaxing. There are walks all around the property or you can walk, or drive, over the hill to taste the Rosby wines, visit the art gallery and stroll amongst the sculptures in the surrounding garden. I think some of the best sunsets I have seen have been while sitting on the verandah sipping a glass of wine. Ever since we started going there Rosby has become our benchmark for holiday...
Read moreRosby ìs the most wonderfully inspiring place to visit and stay as an artist. The studio is stylishly furnished and such a homely feel to retreat to each afternoon. The views are spectacular with the gently undulating hills down to the valley. I've come back home reenergised and ready to paint those stunning images. My hosts Kay and Gerry were like staying with family. They were so welcoming and nothing was any trouble for them. As I was by myself they made sure I felt they weren't far away if I needed anything.
The workshop was far above my expectations. Maurie was a fantastic tutor with incredible patience and a fabulous sense of humour. He was encouraging and continually assisted to improve our skills. Kay's lunches were delicious and a beautiful setting to eat in. It was very hard to leave this gorgeous place but I will certainly return for more stays and workshops. Thank you so much Kay and Gerry for your hospitality. Kind...

The cows and the chooks made us feel very welcome!! We loved the nice little ‘touches’ about the place, including selections of teas, cereals, fruit, jams etc, as well as the extensive range of books and magazines to laze about with. Whilst our group of eight are a very close bunch of friends, the layout of the bedrooms and ensuites still allows the utmost individual privacy.
Our only suggestion we have relates to the electronic entertainment systems. The music system allowed only for an IPod, with no Bluetooth ability, which is a little dated. Also, with such a large lounge room, a good sized Smart flat screen TV (perhaps mounted on a wall) may be more befitting of a modern guest house?
We had a wonderful, relaxing...
