A great spot with 32 sites, most large enough for several cars plus camping gear. Some small but others can fit large caravans. Only has a few firepits, and will need to bring your own kindling and wood. You will need to book via https://www.parks.vic.gov.au/places-to-see/parks/cape-liptrap-coastal-park/where-to-stay/bear-gully-campground. We found the site we wanted first then booked one (1 to 2 bars if your with Telstra, up to 3 if you backtrack up the hill a km or 2). The website describes each site quite well, noting the size etc of each site, so if your going during a busy period, have a read through and book in advance to avoid disappointment. The ground is rich black soil, which sticks when it's damp (which is probBly most of the time given the location). So strongly suggest putting a tarp down. The views over Wilson's Promontory to the east are excellent, especially at dusk and dawn. There is a drop toilet on-site and the locals (birds, wallabies and wombats) seem used to humans, so it was easy to get some good photos. Don't feed them though, our food isn't good for the wildlife.

I visited the campground purely to access the spectacular coastline. Arriving on the day after Melbourne's 3rd lockdown was lifted I noted that only one campsite was occupied. The 5km dirt road to the campground was in good condition, though I was surprised to see 3 foxes on different parts of this dirt road in broad daylight around 8am. I spent several hours heading towards Walkerville on the beachfront. The rock formations are simply spectacular but beware that it seemed virtually impossible to get around some of them and eventually I decided not to push my luck! I strongly recommend timing any walk here to be within an hour or two of low tide. It is an unspoilt part of Victoria and in the 3 hours I was there I did not see another person either at the campground or on the beach.

We loved this camground. Beautiful views across to Wilson's prom. In the evening Wombats are everywhere. In the morning parrots came and sat on our hands and ate seeds. Please do not feed human food it is not good for them. All spots are flat, thought not all spots have access to a fire pit. Fire pits are shared. The only sites that didn't seem flat were it seemed 20 and 21. We stayed in site 1 and I recommend. Specially if you have some friends and can take site 1 and 2. It's a bit muddy after rain, take a tarp for under the tent. Toilets only 2 but good for long drops. Road there unsealed but maintained. Remote so ensure to take wood, water, ect. Beach is lovely but doesn't look great for swimming we went in winter, and explored the rocks.
