The drive up to the road is very dark and narrow and you may bump into a kangaroo or two so be careful! Nice if you are looking at connecting with nature during your stay. Room was cosy although furniture is starting to wear. It was mentioned that there wjll be no cleaning service but rubbish will be picked up. When we came back, the pizza box was still there even though we put it right on top of the bin. It’s my pet peeve when the rubbish in my room is not cleared out..
We booked through Expedia and it was stated that children are welcomed but not entitled to free breakfast. It’s fine but when we checked in, owner told us of course they are welcomed, you just have to pay. It’s the first time I encountered a reply like that as it’s usually FOC when Expedia says children are welcomed otherwise, it will be stated as children must occupy an extra bed. He just gave us a shrug. Really don’t appreciate the sacarsm. Wife also gave off vibes like everything is too troublesome for her - not sure if it’s just how she is but when you are in the service line, you just have to be more mindful.
All in, it’s a relatively nice place but it’s ok to give a miss if you have other choices.
——— Shows a lot when the owner attacks the guest‘s review and even call out lies when I (tried to be respectful) and even wrote down the nice things that we enjoyed but there you go - it was mentioned all right. Usually hotels will leave us to handle things on our own or give us options but never enforce what is not stated. I most definitely did not complain about Expedia being hard to understand because we have used booking sites for all our travels and we always read the children policy. Perhaps it should be indicated that children MUST use extra bed like all other properties who have mastered Expedia. I have neither troubled them to take care of our children or to help us solve any “problems”. In fact, I offered to make our own extra bed and to leave the option if they wanted to provide the extra towels or not since they are so sticky about everything. I most definitely remembered putting the box on the bin as I’m worried that it will be missed out as mentioned I have a pet peeve on rubbish clearing. The housekeeper or whoever it is opened the box, took out the pizza pan and left the box back where it is. Not sure if such an elaborate action is a result of missing out or perhaps they thought I would like to keep the box. Anyway, I would believe the same should be said to the owners to treat their guests with respect and not create and spill...
Read moreMy wife and I spent three nights here, and were very impressed with everything. ||Accommodation: We had one of the units, and while these are located adjacent to one another, they still feel very private. The rooms were generously sized, and all the things we needed were provided. There was a lovely seating area in the shade outdoors as well.||Breakfast: The continental breakfasts surpassed our expectations. It included barista coffee, juices, fresh fruit, various cereal and yoghurt options, toasts, boiled eggs, and more. While most people sat inside, we enjoyed sitting outside under the shade of the trees and enjoying the birds.||Dinner: Karriview has a restaurant on site, and we enjoyed making use of this for one evening. The food was delicious, and a good sized serving. It was convenient being able to stay on site for the evening.||Location: The lodge is located quite centrally, within an easy drive of Cowaramup, Gracetown, and Margaret River. So it was a nice base to explore the surrounding area, with plenty of options just 10 minutes drive in any direction.||Service: Richard and his staff were friendly and took good care of us throughout our stay. When we needed some extra coffee or toiletries, it was promptly provided without question.||Summary: We had a wonderful stay here, and would gladly return here in the future, and highly recommend...
