My stay at Cosy Tents was also my first experience of glamping. As might be understandable for someone who has only ever had exposure to ‘normal’ camping, I was extremely skeptical, and expecting very little. Despite these profoundly low expectations, Cosy Tents managed to be one of the most enjoyable holiday experiences I’ve ever had, period.||||From the first moment you leave your car and walk into the campsite, it’s clear that a great deal of thought has gone into the layout of every amenity. The toilets and showers are together, and located almost exactly in the centre of the campsite, with a clearly marked path to each of the tents on either side. When you step inside, it’s easy to forget for a moment that you’re supposed to be ‘glamping’ - the decor is contemporary and inviting, with ample towels provided in each of the bathrooms, in addition to those waiting for you in your tents. When you do finally decide to go back outside, there are separate fire pits dotted around the campsite that beckon for you to go and sit near them. Not far from the toilets is a large, spacious undercover kitchen and lounge area, which offered a bit of refuge when the rain decided to make a brief appearance. Add all of this to the wonderfully scenic views available almost anywhere around the campsite - from right outside the tent, to the very top of the hill at the back of the site - and you have a recipe for the perfect glamping stay.||||Then there’s the tents. Again, as a glamping skeptic, I was expecting a lackluster excuse for a bed, with horrible pillows (a pet hate of mine). What I found instead was a veritable cloud sitting in the middle of the tent, that, were it not for the amazing views outside, could very well have kept me there for the duration of the stay. A fan (or heater, if you’re staying in winter) was also provided, although the weather was pleasant enough that we didn’t really need it. The extra blankets were warm, and proved useful on the cool night we happened to be there. Adding further to the mystique of feeling like we were staying in a hotel rather than a campsite, the tent has its own dedicated lightsource and ports to charge phones and other USB devices.||||While all of this would have been enough to make anybody be able to justify the money they’d spent, there’s one final cherry on top. The site has its own wastewater treatment plant, and each tent has a solar panel which is used to power the lightsource and charging capabilities I mentioned before. None of this directly improves the quality of the stay, but it does underscore the genuine commitment of the proprietors to creating a self-sustaining business that is as environmentally-friendly as it is inviting. This, then, represents a bit of a theme for the founders of Cosy Tents - to go above and beyond in delivering a glamping experience which will be difficult to find anywhere else.||||To say that I would look forward to a future stay at Cosy Tents is an understatement. Every aspect of the stay has been thought about to a degree that would make most large hotel chains blush. Their new ‘hybrid’ tents (which are in fact tiny houses) look even more inviting than the tents, and I’m itching to find a reason to head back to Daylesford to try them. I truly cannot recommend Cosy Tents enough to all - especially those skeptical about the prospect of ‘glamping’. Lest the reader be left feeling that this review has done nothing other than rave about the experience offered by Cosy Tents, let there be reassurance in the fact that I have truly looked for aspects to critique about my stay, and have sincerely been unable...
Read moreWife and I had one night stay, Friday 28th February. Wonderful experience. Staff very friendly and helpful. Tent was 'Beaumaris', large and very well appointed. One of 12 tents on the site. Our tent was most likely the same as the others in the appointments. Small fridge, hot water bottles, USB ports and electric light. Small heater for winter and fans for summer. Power supplied by Solar Panels. Bed was veeerrry comfortable with plenty of pillows. Crockery, cutlery, towels etc: all the things you expect in a hotel room.||The showers/toilet facilities are shared and were excellent and very clean. Shampoo, conditioner, body wash supplied. ||Outdoor undercover shared cooking facilities with dining area attached if you don't want to eat at your tent. There is a community fire pit to meet and greet your neighbours if that's your thing. ||The tents are well spread on the camp site, over a couple of hectares. Far enough apart to afford a little privacy if you need it: tents have very thin walls 😉.||There are no activities; you have to supply your own entertainment. It's very picturesque however, set among trees and dams in a very Australian Bush environment.||Within about 10 to 15 minute drive are the towns of Daylesford and Hepburn Springs. Both rich in history and Spa facilities are plentiful. Also pubs and clubs. ||Plenty of kangaroos and birdlife and come right into the camp area if it's quiet.||Our upgrades (at a price) included a brekky box, Moet on ice and chocolates. A very nice addition to the experience. ||The only negative thing I would say is there are only 4 toilets/showers, so it could get a bit busy during peak times, i. e. Mornings and evenings.||Overall I highly recommend Cosy Tents if this sounds like...
Read moreLocated in Daylesford.
I have been here multiple times, they have upgraded the fireplace stoves in the tents and the kitchen space is much bigger, modernised, and under cover.
It was a nice trip out to Daylesford, a change of scenery with fresh air away from the busy city life. A much needed break.
The place provides some basic kitchen essentials such as:
🍽 - Plates, forks, knives, spoons, cups, pans, BBQ stove and fire stove to cook over. Cooking oil, salt & pepper.
No fridge on site, they provide esky coolers in the tent. I would highly recommend buying ice or cold packs if you plan on cooking dinner there. Otherwise town is roughly 20 minutes away. During winter, you can leave the esky outside if you need to keep produce cold.
They used to provide milk and juice, but this time round there were none provided.
Enjoyed the fireplace provided in the kitchen areas and the firepit plus inside the tents. Plenty of starter woods provided and extra in the main kitchen area to grab if required more throughout the night.
3 × toilets 2 x Shower rooms with toilets inside as well.
This camp-site is more for couples as no children are allowed. Each tent only fits 2 adults.
Highly recommend for a getaway. Will be...
