Birdsong Retreat Bed n Breakfast — Hotel in Greater Brisbane

We knew that this was a tent under the house with shared outdoor shower and toilet when we booked so we weren’t too surprised with the lack of privacy and basic facilities. The room was somewhat clean with a TV and fridge, but the space was small and there was an unsightly stain on the roof. The neighbours said they had mould on the roof of their tent, so we were grateful we didn’t get that room. The grounds were beautiful at first impressions but a lot has been let go and it wasn’t long before the shine wore off with outdated long life milk in the shared fridge, scraping the bottom of the shared jar of instant coffee and general grotty unkept state of the shared kitchen and outdoor area. Not so much fun hearing the guys in the neighbouring tent using the toilet throughout the night and even more challenging using the facilities after a couple of guys had used it a few times after their Friday night drinks. We lucked into a last second booking late in the afternoon on NYE, but still had enough time to catch a sunset ferry over to Birdsong before the end of the afternoon. We were greeted by Anthony and Olympia (and a sizeable welcome cocktail), before having our minds blown by the facilities and location of their retreat.

Despite having a rain-filled stay, the weather didn't affect our experience at all. The accommodation is beyond clean, expansive and absolutely stunning. Ant & Ola were incredibly welcoming, and always available during the stay. Not to mention the nightly rate, which is an absolute STEAL.

Highly recommended, went for a short 2 night getaway, with my partner, we were picked up by Anthony who gave us the grand tour of the island, which was awesome, top bloke!! we Met Olympia when we got back to the B&B, and we were both impressed with the room, I'm not a camping person but my partner is and it was inbetween like glamping type style, comfy bed, great wifi, smart tv all the comforts of home but in such an amazing peaceful location.
