Ross River Resort is a very special spot to stay. The property is surrounded by hills and mountains which are illuminated by beautiful coloured sunsets each evening, and provide great viewing of the surrounding land. There are wild horses roaming around which are lovely to see up close, along with many birds and reptiles for those looking to see some animals. There are also resident peacocks roaming around the reception. The staff are incredible friendly and helpful, and the meals were delicious! There is interesting history to the property and homestead, which if you ask the staff will happily guide you through. The cabins are spacious and keep cool without airconditioning even in 32 degrees! There is also an airconditioner and fridge in the cabins if needed, which is handy. The pool is a great size and a refreshing temperature, great relief from the heat of the day. All in all we were super happy with everything and would definetly visit and stay at Ross River...
Read moreDonât visit the bar after 2pm unless you want your head ripped off by the grumpy lady. Awfully rude to us for missing the kitchen closing by 10mins when we asked for some hot chips. Not a fun experience. The poor bloke (assuming husband) felt bad and offered to make us some chips when we left.
Multiple complaints of this happening all the time. Clearly out of touch that people are just exploring and not looking up their kitchen times at the start of long drives. Would be a clever business move to extend the kitchen by an hour or at least have a simple afternoon menu available (like hot chips). Awful experience. Wonât be back. Will be deterring others from visiting. Some simple manners goes a long way. The second star is only due to the nice man who made us chips. Zero stars...
Read moreWouldn't stay there on principal, the grounds people were so rude, especially the woman, drove to the camp ground to have a look for future reference, all we heard was "oi stop, you can't come in here there's a function on" we turned around and thought we'd go to the pub for lunch, parked up and we're met by her flying across the carpark pulling her bin cackling like a rooster on steroids, "I told you we have a function on so leave now" told her we thought it was just the camp grounds that were out of bounds not the whole area and was promptly told again to get out, maybe in future it would be helpful to put a sign up on the road so people know not to enter. Also calling it a resort is a stretch of the...
