I have read previous reviews and they are dated, maybe at the time of writing the chalets were good but now they are in my opinion very tired, The lady who looks after the property is struggling, from the moment we arrived she was under the pump. It is a big area and to be honest needs a great deal of work just to keep the gardens in trim. The Chalet we stayed in was small and not very comfortable . The kitchen area is adequate but on arrival we were told the dishwasher wasn't working. No big deal, but it is part of the package. However the sink in the bathroom was not fixed to the wall (it moved when you used it) and the shower doors were broken. The floor of the shower was my main concern, It was really slippery and if someone fell it would be difficult to extricate them. In addition if you wanted to dry your towels (two were provided) it was expected for you to dry them outside, good in summer, not so good for when we were there. We thought there might be a dryer on the premises but were provided instead with a a stand tp put up in the not so late main room overnight. There is no areas to put suitcases and we ended up stowing them alongside the very uncomfortable settee. If you wanted to sit out side and enjoy the view you were limited by the amount of time you could put up with the mozzies. Oh yes the provided citronella can was empty and the lady was unavailable. By the way the view was of the local road.||||To be honest I believe the owner is trying her best but...
Read moreI chose this place because I thought it would be better than a standard motel. I was wrong.||I am surprised this business is still operating as it is lack lustre and tired. There is nothing "luxurious" about it.||I booked on website where the "February special" is still promoted ten months later.||Poor presentation commenced on driving in with a worn out main sign on the road. The gardens were over grown and dank. A pile of uncared for bicycles were next to front door of office rusting away.||Pretty sure we were only booking but were advised on arriving 20min before 3pm that room wasn't ready. Some mumbo jumbo excuse.||Chalet (read small cabin) was tiny. Zero room for suitcase-only place was on floor blocking wardrobe. Free chocolates but no bathroom amenities except for low class soap. Unbelievable.||Be warned-THE INTERNET DOES NOT WORK||Tiny TV||A highlight was a 2011 Womens Weekly.||Horrible heavy bed spread instead of a comfy duvet.||No power points available except for one bedside and on the wall in bathroom (not next to mirror!)||UHT milk only but plunger free coffee.||Office mainly unattended and phone calls go to message bank.||Unfortunately Bright lacks quality non motel short term accommodation and this sad place is a good example.||Maybe once this place was loved and well run. Not now.||Save $25 and go to a motel where at least you can...
Read moreThe ambience of Chalet Luminex is truly beautiful, overlooking the golf course and taking in the autumn season. Chalet 1 needs maintenance : shower screen needs adjusting, frequently comes off rails, bed is small and uncomfortable, electric blanket only goes up to setting number 2 and fresh painting wouldn't go astray. Candle provided, but no matches/lighter to create ambience. Lindt Chocolates provided were a nice touch, but a complimentary cheese platter or bottle of wine(what Bright is reknown for) would have been appreciated. Complimentary nuts provided were an aquired taste i.e. chestnuts. No reception hours are given, one has to guess, most often office was closed. Location is a 3 minute drive into town or a 1 hr walk return into town. The entrance is also hard to find with new estate on Lowes Rd. Owner didn't give prior directions or mention this. Enter the narrow space between 2 red brick...
