We saw three Red Belly Black Snakes 😱😱😱😱 Online Booking is essential A few people had to go back because they didnt have booking. And there are several signs that says that. Only one toilet for the whole campsite but cleaned regularly. About 5 minutes walk down hill from car park to camp side on the dirt road which will be uphill climb when go back. Definitely need a decent trolly to carry your tent and camping gear otherwise be ready for your exercise of the day💪. Two very nice beaches on either side of the camp site and one of them is less than one minute walk from campsite. Cold showers but clean. No light at night. They provide free fire wood. Can not have open fire but there are a few places you can make fire. Kangaroos and possums are everywhere. Make sure you lock your food in hard boxes or inside the tent with no access from outside. They entered the open area of our tent while we were away and ate all our food from the picnic bags and made a mess.

You have to be really careful with kids as there are snakes everywhere. One of them was near the toilet.

There is a seperate picnic area for the day trippers and gets really busy. Car park also gets really busy with all day trippers. There is a small shop ( expensive) inside the park ( 5 min drive) to buy snack and essential and there are Woolworth and Coles about (15 min drive) outside of the main gate. We paid $34/night for one tent ( two adult) which is not too bad. Easier to take plastic cups and plates as the washing space is not very convenient to do lots of washing.

Mostly families are there with kid going bed early and by 9 or 10 pm the whole campsite is quiet and dead. Probably not the best place if you want to stay up around the fire and party all night. Rangers are on site few times a day checking bookings, unauthorised fires and anything suspicious. We had a...

Mixed feelings about this place. The location itself, I.e. the wildlife, the beach, the bush area are incredible; immaculate and It's how it's managed that in my opinion can be improved: 1- Kangaroos and possums seem to be at constant risk of being poisoned, albeit inadvertently, by day visitors feeding them all sorts of human food and by campers keeping their food and rubbish in bags or containers that are easy to be ripped open by the animals. There should be significantly more warnings to educate people and discourage such behaviour. Rangers should also regularly emphasise this. 2- Big rubbish containers, located near but not "at" the campsite and the lack of any small rubbish bins seem to give some lazier folks the excuse not to do the right thing. The amount of rubbish we collected at and around the campsite on a single day was simply shocking. 3- There isn't much point in building toilet blocks but not installing lights inside them. 4- As well, there isn't much point in opening this magnificent place to public but then forcing campers to carry their whole camp gear from the carpark down to the campsite and then all the way back up (300m) to the carpark.

I would personally prefer to see this camping ground to be closed to all but the traditional...

We loved this camp ground. It's a smaller Camp-site which is nice. Very family friendly. Quiet for most of the nights. We loved hope close it was to the beach, and the beach itself was beautiful. It's 300m from the carpark down a hill it's a work out Good facilities for a camp site.

A few negatives for our trip personally, while it is set to the side it is right on the public footpath, we arrived on a public holiday and it was like being in a shopping mall with the amount of tourists passing through to see Kangaroos. There are some signs saying Campers only but they are small and not enough to deter. The rest of the nights where quiet thank goodness!

It's advertised with about 5 fire pits around, there are only 3 working ones. We missed out on a few nights as it was big groups and it was difficult to join in. The one near our section was removed which was a shame.

We also had a workmen fixing the BBQ's on site during the day for 2 days which really took away from the peacefulness, and made it particularly difficult to put the Kids down for a nap. But I suspect this is not a...

Where do I start? This is an amazing camping ground, I highly recommend it. The amenities are basic: toilets, bins, some free firewood, two electric BBQ but no showers. If you want some showers you will need to go to the Green Patch camping ground next door. But you do not go there for the amenities, you go there for the wildlife and the beach. You will wake up surrounded by kookaburras and kangaroos. The beach is beautiful, the sand is pure white and it is a great alternative to Hyam's beach. Two important things to keep in mind: you need to book your spot in advance on their website and you cannot park your car near your tent, you will have to carry everything over 300m. Make sure you get there a few hours before sunset then. And before I forget, this is a great place for photography and shoot the milky way :)
