A Highly Recommended Resort with a Stunning Transformation I recently had the pleasure of staying at this amazing resort with a group of friends, and I must say it was an unforgettable experience. From the moment we arrived, we were greeted with warmth and professionalism by the host. The resort's prime location offered breathtaking scenic views that made us feel like we were in paradise. The villas provided the perfect accommodation for our group, with all the amenities we could possibly need. The attention to detail was impeccable, and it truly felt like a luxurious getaway. We were pleasantly surprised by the range of activities available within the resort itself. There was never a dull moment, and we felt spoiled for choice. Under the new management, this resort has undergone a remarkable transformation. They have breathed new life into the property, ensuring it now boasts a plethora of amenities that make it a top-tier destination. I urge you not to let any outdated reviews from the previous management discourage you from experiencing this revamped resort. From the seamless check-in process to the flawless check-out, our stay was nothing short of perfect. I wholeheartedly recommend this resort to anyone in search of a truly memorable vacation. Whether you're seeking relaxation or adventure, this place has it all. Trust me, you won't be disappointed. I extend my heartfelt gratitude to the entire team at the resort for making our stay exceptional. We will certainly be returning in the future!

Great quiet place to stay, everything was perfect so I'm only going to point the down side. $800 for 4 people for the weekend way too expensive, we can do the same at hotham for $220 for 5. but I guess the entire area is a bit of a Rip-off. stove fan didnt work, (room 6) holes on the wall with a panel attached to it? massive table and massive couch.. how 4 people can seat on that? there is no reception due to so many trees, so the only way of communication is through wi-fi wich it doesnt work. 1 change your telstra default password. 2 there is a problem between the router and your repeater. I restarted the modem but kept dropping out the repeater. I'll suggest getting Cisco repeaters. and run cat 6 to it. dont do wireless to wireless, you have too many trees. keep in mind chicken wire also if you have any. set up the guess network so they dont see your private network.. hope this helps...

First of all cheapest during the peak time ($294 for two ppl) and one room can be shared by 10 ppl. if you are travelling with your family or friends then it’s a good option. I saw all the reviews during covid but i still booked it and guess what? this place isn’t that bad. My experience was good and i enjoyed my stay. The only reason for 4 star is that there was no reception not sure about Telstra cause i have vodafone and they don’t have wifi too 🙂, overall i had hot water, heater,a blow dryer, a fridge with milk, tea, water, a clean bed with 9 other bulk beds, a non shared toilet, a pretty view and there is a river too. One more thing not sure about meal (if they do or not) cause i ate out most of the time and didn’t even look online. A lot of options are available in jindabyn for food, groceries and other stuff which is 9 minutes away 🚗 from this place :)

I wanted to give them -100 rating. Unflexible , inconsiderate, highly unprofessional and empathy lacking people who put me through hell and back. I thought they would show some compassion and understanding due to Covid lockdown, and would refund my money , but they said they dont give refunds and and they didnt allow me to use the booking for next year when I could see snow for thw first time. Greedy and inconsiderate people run this place and thats why they are being thrashed with bad reviews on google. It was my hard earned money and I had no choice but to rebook constantly because they strictly wont refund, and the lockdown keot extending and they said i can only use it until the end of the year or thats all. I called booking.com twice and the staff were understanding about the situation and they would speak with the hotel and hotel rejected their requests twice and told them that by reserving my booking, they could have given that date to someone in a non Covid affected area instead. I booked this trip 3 months before lockdown. What was i supposed to do, they wouldnt give my money and wouldnt let me use for next year and honestly made it seem that Covid was my fault and I work hard for my money and cannot walk away from $1800. Ive never had an experience like this ever. In the end, my mum and I only went in Spring after lockdown to use the money, and we booked it for a family of 8 to see snow, and no one else could come because of conflicting dates and because there was no snow. NEVER BOOKING WITH THEM AGAIN !!! It was supposed to be a 4 days 3 night trip but on the first day, the road was closed due to flooding and they wont give the $600. Horrible, callous and greedy people. Will book with another hotel or see snow internationally. Not worth the price for a dinky little cabin with hardly any moving space . We were 2 people in a 8 people cabin and it was cosy for us. No way 8 people could have stayed there comfortably, and there is no signal in the cabins at all. Have to go to reception for signal and it wasnt worth it as we had to drive up. Every Airbnb gave refunds during covid lockdown and these inconsiderate people just took my money . Im glad the trip is done and over with and i dont have to deal with these horrible, greedy and rude people ever again!!! The staff onsite understood my plight but said their manager makes the rules. Their manager is a money grabbing greedy scumbag and I would never recommend this place at all as i dont want anyone going through this experience and horrible feelings I went through dealing with them. I asked for some mercy and a understanding compromise during a helpless situation that was out of my control due to lockdown, and dealing with these people's greedy and understanding lacking character was distressing and gave me sleepless nights, headaches and more intense anxiety and helplessness. WILL NEVER EVER COME HERE AGAIN, EVEN...

If I could give 0 stars I probably would. I cannot recommend this to anyone unless you like an unhygienic and off grid lifestyle. Unfortunately this was a terrible waste of money and the only bad experience I have had on my trip. The staff were nice and the room was basically what was expected from the $100 price tag. BUT the problems were too numerous and too serious to be ignored.

NOT CLEAN

The linen did not look washed or changed. There was a person-sized impression in the bed and there were multiple hairs on the bedding and pillows. (Reception was already closed when I went to report that so I just used my own doona and pillows placed on top of a blanket used to cover the unwashed bedding provided. If I didn’t have that option I am sure I would not have slept on the property at all).

The bathroom is worse than any public toilet I have seen in three weeks travelling over thousands of kilometres. And that includes pit toilets in national parks that were more hygienic. The shower is not a place I would want to wash my dog and the toilet did flush but that’s all I would say was functional about it. The tiny sink had a bar of soap (ewww, get a grip) and was blocked so that you could not effectively wash your hands before it filled with water and there was no paper or other means to dry your hands. (Although after I walked to reception to report this a small stack of hand towels were placed on the corner of the filthy sink). No hand sanitiser provided, naturally.

NO PHONE SIGNAL

NO WIFI

Advertised with wifi but there was none. I could ‘connect’ to the network but there were zero bars and nothing happened. When I went to discuss it with staff (twice) they said they had reset it (first time) and were working on it (second time), but there was no wifi for my entire stay.

EXCESSIVELY NOISY ROOM

I am unsure what it was but there was a very uncomfortably loud mechanical noise like a washing machine on spin cycle emanating from the wall adjacent to my room that continued well after 10pm and woke me before 6am. Needless to say, I didn’t feel rested after my stay here.

LARGE POT-HOLES IN ENTRY/DRIVEWAY

If you arrive late you may not be able to see the pot holes before you land in them. Take care driving the 1km from the gate to reception. I would say the pot-hole situation sums up the significant lack of attention to detail and concern for guest comfort and safety that has caused me to leave such a negative review.

Normally I am an appreciative and supportive guest who is happy to overlook small mistakes when the overall experience is welcoming or value for money. Sadly this time I need to tell the ugly truth to help others make an informed choice if they are considering this accommodation. I definitely would not...

We orginally booked this place for 3 nights in winter 2021 to go on a snow trip. Due to the Covid lockdowns we were forced to cancel but management wouldn't give us a refund of any kind, we couldn't even get credit to use and try again the following year. So after many emails and calls the best they could do is push our booking forward. We ended up going on the 1st of January. No worries we turned our snow trip to a summer hike instead, while still having to pay peak season price (about double) for the accommodation.

As soon as we arrived we were welcomed by many many insects both dead and alive inside our cabin. Management later described this as having a "forest feel". I understand that we are in the forest and some of this is to be expected but shouldn't there still be some level of maintenance?

We then spent a good hour cleaning the mould out of the fridge before we could unpack our groceries. Next we went to check out the bathroom facilities. The toilet wouldn't flush, shower was fine but there were opened soap bars left around from the previous guests. Again, where is the minimum level of maintenance??

To top it all off there was a leak in the roof right above where we were having dinner and when it rained it ran like a tap. We were told to evacuate the cabin after mentioning it was a safety issue since the leak was also landing onto the switch board. They moved us into more of a ski lodge which didn't have a kitchen or airconditioning and because it was summer, it was extra stuffy in there. At least it had working toilets i guess.

Also even though they claim to have Wifi, it was non existent the entire time.

Our complaints and concerns have been heard but have not been compensated in any shape or form. Our stay at Carinya Village was less than unpleasant to...
