I don't think I'll stay here again. No cooking or "eating utensils" allowed in the rooms forcing you to eat out during your stay... which is fine except if you are trying to keep the cost down. Yes there are rooms available with kitchens, I was trying to keep the holiday cheap with toasted sandwiches, cereals and instant meals... didn't happen. The on site pizza shop's prices start at $27 a pizza. I get that its touristy but $27 for one pizza? After seeing the price and reading the pizza shops reviews we decided to drive into town to eat elsewhere. In the room you recieve a bar of soap only. First hotel not to give shampoo or conditioner. There's a kettle with tea and coffee (if blend 43 can be called that) provided with a few paper cups... but no stirring sticks? Heating in the room and the beds comfort was pretty good. Though after reading some reviews mention room cleaning as an issue, we decided to have a look at the space on top of the bathroom (effectively like looking at the top of a cupboard)... where we found literal mounds of dust and a rotting chicken wing.

Initially, I had doubts about this place after reading a few reviews, but it turned out to be one of the best stays I've ever had. The reception staff were extremely friendly, and the area was clean and peaceful. I always woke up to the sight of many kangaroos around. The motel also has a bar with a great vibe. There was plenty of parking, and it was only an eight-minute drive to the Jindabyne Woolies and market. The only improvement I would suggest is adding a microwave in the rooms. The room was simple, with beds, a bedside table, a mini-fridge, a TV, and a kettle. Having a microwave to heat food would be fantastic, especially since cooking isn't allowed inside.

Does its job. Very basic accomodation. - hot shower - radiator (heating, helped with drying wet clothes from a hike) - electric kettle, instant coffee & tea, sugar - TV (did not turn it on) - pillow & comforter - towels & soap bar (no shampoo) - toilet paper Carpet is old. Walls are thin so you can hear people next door’s muffled chats. Creaking floors. Black out blinds old in design. No food/restaurants near by. 5 mins away from center. Management could do some upgrades.

100% recommend this hotel if you want to be treated like you’re in a school camp. The rooms are mediocre for the price you’re paying and they have no consideration for their guests. The rooms are dirty and full of dust. As someone who is allergic to dust, I found it very difficult to sleep, constantly work up my a rash in the back of my throat, sneezing , and sinus blockage.

One great thing is they take noise complaints EXTREMELY seriously. My friends and I were super excited to spend the weekend in Jindabyne for my fiancés birthday. We had extremely rude and loud neighbours who would swear obscene comments and bang on our wall multiple times even when we were sleeping, waking us up, even though we had the courtesy not to complain. Although on our second night, we were playing cards and listening to music at a very low level (3) and got a knock on our door. It was security claiming they had a noise complaint from our neighbour. We agreed to comply and began to whisper. We then got another knock at 12. We were waiting until 12 to sing happy birthday and cut a cake. It was Sam, security and he told us he got another complaint. We began to argue with him as we were as quiet as can be. As we began to plead our case he threatened to call the police and told us to find another hotel to stay at in the middle of the night because of the noise complaint. I mentioned we just wanted to celebrate my fiancés birthday and cut a cake and he said we have 10 minutes to do so and then go to sleep and that we had to have our ‘lights out’. It felt like we were in school and had to follow strict rules. I have video proof of how quiet we were being. As we continued to attempt to make him understand our side he said he will call the police on us. We eventually spoke to the manager and was met with sarcastic comments from both the manager and the security guard and they both had no consideration for us. There was no proof we were being loud and disturbing our neighbours. We even told them that our neighbours were also loud but we were IGNORED. We again tried to explain to him that we were simply whispering to each other. After a few minutes of talking to the manager, he said that he will come to our door with the police if we don’t go to sleep within 10 minutes. I sensed racism as we were trying to explain ourselves but instead were shunned. I believe, if we were white we would Not have been treated this was at all. I am a reasonable woman of colour and if I am being treated unfairly, I will know.

Once he left we WHISPERED a happy birthday song for my fiancé and went to bed. The fact that they threatened us multiple times with police and that they would vacate us if they get another noise complaint is ridiculous. My friends literally had to crawl to the bathroom in the middle of the night to relieve themselves which I find absolutely ludicrous.I

f you don’t want to be treated like a child I 100% recommend finding another place to stay at. If you read any other review, it mentions how thin the walls are. I don’t know how the expect families to stay if it is so easy to get kicked out due to ‘noise complaints’ . It seems you can’t breathe even one decibel louder past 10pm. I can’t imagine what they’d do to people who have sleep apnea. This hotel has no consideration for you.

We wasted our money and time at this place and they have lost valuable customers who recommend their friends to stay here. Never again will we come back...

Stayed here with a school group, 90 students for a week 2023. One positive thing, but so many negatives.

Starting positive, the food was terrific, lots of it, suited to the students with great variety. We were well fed at breakfast and dinner. Seconds allowed, good communal eating area.

Negatives:

Check in after 4pm, we arrived at 3.50pm, cabins not ready so were given the option of storing gear in a single room. Walking 400m from the bus parking to the rooms (with luggage for a week), then repeating the walk to the rooms when they were ready. Repeated this walk every morning and evening. It would have been possible to park the buses closer. Seems like a quibble, but 400m is quite a distance. No guidance on finding the rooms except a map.

Rooms were in blocks, but the school group were not allocated whole blocks, so some students were spread out. The blocks are well spread out over the property but having 4 rooms to each block reduced privacy.

Rooms themselves, as others have said, have thin internal walls so sound was obvious between rooms. No storage in rooms save a small draw cabinet. Limited hanging space (4 hooks), no table or chairs, no cooking or meal prep allowed in rooms. They are a place to sleep and nothing more. Small TV but no place to sit and watch except to take over someone's bed. Luggage all over the floor. Would be better to have had bunk beds and put a table in there with some seating. Heating was good. Single beds comfy with doonas.

Location wise, quite far out of Jindabyne, so not really convenient to anything at all. Bus to Skitube trip is 30+ minutes. Need own buses or transport afaik.

During ski season, the station hosts events which can be quite loud and sound travels well. Only one night a week. Good or bad depending if you can party.

Staff were friendly and...

It is what it is and will never change.❤every year for 90 or so day during the peek snow season the locals of Jindabyne & the mass corporations within the area get to charge us way too much for way outdated accommodation with paper thin walls, none to little hot water, overpriced food and beverages, unhygienic & not up to national health & safety standards hotel rooms🤫 the best part is people complain but people still come back😂😂. Truth is they probably hate the tourists So best thing to do is rob them dry & let them sleep in the trap house style rooms really test their immune systems🤭 at the end of the day its a lot warmer then sleeping outside its a roof over your head and bed to sleep on. Who cares about the blood, cum stains & fecal matter on the curtains, beds & towels it's not the Hilton nor any accommodation on Jindabyne ever will be. I never got a packet of lollies on each bed when I stayed in the yuppy 5stars in the city and I did here Boom!! Free Candy!! I love the fact that they don't update the decor and if I was in the same position as them I wouldn't either honestly why waste your profit on it? where else in Australia can you charge 5 star prices for pushing 2 star max accommodation? 🤔each yea the price gets higher and the quality of the stay gets lower I still come back numerous times a year 😂 and😂😂❤😱 for that very reason I feel they have earned a 5star rating and the people that give low start ratings have been wrapped in cotton wool there whole life and don't know how to rough it basic style....
