Do not stay here! The manager Vicki was a nasty piece of work. I am extremely disappointed with her customer service and the way we were treated during our stay. We arrived extremely late on the 1st of August. We set up our tent and went to bed. We woke up late the next day. Packed up and started making our breakfast around 9:40am. We were so concerned about being on our way to not delay sight seeing for the rest of our trip that we didn’t even think to read the check out instructions in the envelope we picked up the night before. I haven’t camped in a long time and my partner is from Europe. This was his first camping adventure. Vicki rang my phone at 10:11. She was quite snappy on the phone, asking why we hadn’t returned the key to the ensuite bathroom to our tent site yet. I explained we weren’t aware of the check out time and that I would bring the key back. We only needed 15 more minutes. We were trying to finish our breakfast as quickly as possible. About 10:20 she stormed down to the kitchen with her arms crossed and said “this is not on”. She spoke down to us like we were little kids in a raised tone of voice. I said “excuse me”. She stood over us whilst we were eating, shouting at us for over staying our welcome. I apologised and said we didn’t realise there was a check out time of 10am. She told us we should have read the paperwork. I said yes sure that is our fault but we were so tired and woke up frazzled and just didn’t realise. We had a terrible drive the day before and it was the first day of our vacation. She told us she didn’t care. The way she spoke to us was really disrespectful and I was so upset. We were both in shock. I said we only needed a few more minutes and we would be on our way. My partner was apologising. And she continued to lecture us. I stated I would be putting in a formal complaint as the way we were treated was so unfair. To which she replied “i’m putting in a complaint due to your tone of voice and i’ll have you black listed and i’ll call the police and tell them your trespassing”. I said “that is entirely unfair, I have not raised my voice, I am upset at the way you’ve spoken to us and i’m not going to accept being treated like this”. We started to pack up and move our stuff to the car to leave. She then said that all we had to do was notify them we would be late and pay $10 to stay until 11am. Could she not have led with that instead of treating us the way she did? We were not aware of the check out time to notify her. I didn’t want to pay to stay any longer after the threats and the abuse we received from the camp site manager. We were so upset and disappointed and shocked. I apologised that we forgot to read the check out time. We just were very disorientated and tired. It was an honest mistake. We will never stay with at this site again. I will be informing other tourists on camping websites and my poor partner, as a guest in this “great” country, witnessing this terrible woman when I had said just the day before that we had some of the greatest people and customer service in country WA. You should be ashamed to have her as the face of your business and as a leader at this site. Very...
Read moreIf you've ever wondered what it is like to go camping in North Korea, visit this place! From the moment you arrive you are escorted by the very rude and condescending groundsman in his buggy to your pitch, where he then tells you how and where to set up. If you do happen to have 2 vehicles, even if one of them is used for sleeping in, you are only allowed 5-10 mins to pack up and unpack the other vehicle after a day out then must park at the visitors car park at the front of the site, shire rules, so he said. (although apparently this rule doesn't apply to every customer). While chastising us for having the car parked in same spot for 20 mins while getting ready one morning, he noticed a towel on next pitch was hung over fence to dry and promptly told them in no uncertain terms that that is not acceptable and to remove it immediately! Shire rules again. We came back on third day to find he had put sprinklers on at our pitch and had soaked my sons swag and bed and barbecue, only for him to reply that he thought we had put it on ourselves! SMH, and then offered the large dryer, when we said it's an inflatable mattress, his answer was " anything can go in the dryer these days" he wasn't bothered in the slightest. We cut short our stay basically because of this man's attitude and absolutely terrible customer service, he is constantly driving round in his buggy on some sort of ego power trip making you feel that you are more of a nuisance than a holiday maker, it is supposed to be a holiday place not a...
Read moreWell this place is divine. We are in a caravan bay with awesome separate en-suite amenities to die for. Appears every site has a self contained en-suite area. Instantaneous gas hot system with HOT water. New and clean. Approx 80 meters from coast and you can hear the waves crashing against the sculptured rocky coast depending on your bay.On arriving, simply make a phone call to reception and Niel will meet you to direct you to your bay and guide you into reversing bay onto your very Green grass with lots of room to spare. No floor mats of any sort permitted to annex or enclosed annex areas accepted. Nice pool, eating facilities and laundry which we didn’t use though. IGA 6 minutes approx away in Kalbarri. You won’t receive any TV channels unless you have satellite tv. Internet is ok if you are in direct line of site with antenna located above laundry behind the office building. My only complaint as we were not in line of site for a connection. Our phone devices did work relatively well. If absolutely required, walk up to office area and internet is great. Pets permitted. Great sites to see along the coast within 30 -45 minutes of driving.Eagle Gorge amazing especially if prepared to traverse down rocks! Make sure you take some good shoes. Opportunity to o the Bigurda Trail and see all the sites that are breathtaking. Some great photo ops. Little ones who can take off without very good judgement I wouldn’t take as very dangerous. Priced modestly...
