We recently enjoyed a family camping trip here with five families, and it was an unforgettable experience! The campground is incredibly spacious and offers stunning views of the lake. No matter where you set up your tent, you’re guaranteed to be relatively close to the water, with breathtaking scenery all around.

The campsite is well-maintained, with everything organized and clean. While the facilities are quite basic, they’re sufficient for a comfortable stay. Showers are free to use but limited to 5 minutes—just enough to freshen up after a long day. There’s no full kitchen, but the campground provides free BBQ grills and tables, which were perfect for our group meals. That said, bringing your own portable cooking gear is a smart idea for added convenience.

The small shop on-site is handy for picking up essentials like drinks and even fishing bait. I bought some worms for about $20.20, which were perfect for an afternoon of fishing by the lake. Booking is fairly straightforward, and availability was good, making this an easy and enjoyable choice for families.

We can’t wait to return for another relaxing getaway—thank you for the...

We have camped here a couple of times, definitely our favourite campground in Southeast Queensland. It is only 1 hour drive from Brisbane / Gold Coast, perfect for a long weekend getaway. Very peaceful and calming, we love it here.

You have to book a spot from the website, there are 2 areas, Captain Logan and Lumley Hill. Depending if you are staying in a tent or a caravan, powered or not, drive in or right next to the lake, they will have the options. We like the fact that all sites are numbered and we know exactly where we will be staying when we book, unlike some caravan parks where they are just overcrowded.

There are flush toilets and hot showers, no need to pay coins for the showers even though it’s timed. But it’s long enough for us. There is a BBQ area, and each site has a dedicated firepit. They sell firewood though it’s better to bring yourself in case they run out.

Staff is friendly and helpful, when we couldn’t go due to the flood season, they happily put our booking into credit and we can...

The staff were fantastic. Leading up to actually going we had a couple of false starts due to weather and we were always able to rebook at no cost. In one case they actually called us to tell us it was too muddy.

We were on a powered site which was clean and well kept. From what we could see all sites were all kept in good condition as well.

Amenities were clean and everything (at least in the men's) was working as they should.

Make sure you take something to have a fire in as there aren't any places to have a fire otherwise.

The wildlife we saw whilst sitting around the fire was a pretty good selection of the normal but we did see a hare and a black-tailed mousesack (that's a real animal) which was a delight to watch running through and up and down the trees.

Prices were very reasonable for how good the amenities were and how good the location was.

All in all I would thoroughly recommend you give yourself a couple of days to...
