Fantastic holiday park! Been to Lucinda a few times now. Each visit has been mainly centred around fishing but the surrounding places and towns to this park have plenty to offer. Big 4 Lucinda is a well maintained, clean and tidy vacation choice. Whether it be camping, caravanning or staying in one of the well presented and priced self contained cabins. There's a choice between powered and nonpowered sites with clean, potable tap water available. Facilities here are definitely one of the best. Including an amazing mens and women's separate shower/toilet block, laundry/clothes line, kitchen, rec room, swimming pool/sun lounges and fish cleaning station with a communal freezer for fish frames which you can use to fill your crab pots if you choose. The reception/office sells cold drinks and essential food items and souvenirs. Should you need any other food supplies, woolworths is only a short 20-30 minute drive away back to Ingham. The local pub is also a great choice for a meal and a few drinks with live music and raffles. And only a short 5 minute walk from camp. Adjacent to the holiday park is a large park with volleyball court and playground for the kids. All in all a Fantastic spot to get away from whatever it is you're trying to get away. Highly...
ย ย ย Read moreA big and very popular Park, with a lot of semi-permanents who regularly visit to escape the southern winter. Sites are good sized and well shaded. Amenities block looks a little aged but are kept clean and functional. Staff are good and helpful. TV reception from a standard caravan aerial is hit and miss and is pretty broken up. Regulars have invested in high powered boosters to receive TV from Townsville, 120 odd kms away as the crow flies. We used satellite. Telstra had full phone service but Optus was next to useless, with no service inside the van and only 1-2 bars outside. Optus internet was the same, however this Park has free internet if you are lucky enough to be in range of the transmitter. A word of warning, if you are coming here to land based fish, then it is pretty restricted. Beach fishing on the high tide only, fishing sites in the Herbert River are limited and fought over. Fishing was poor during our stay here, which is not surprising as all the boat owners walk the beaches and mooring facilities casting nets...
ย ย ย Read moreMy friends and I stayed in a cabin here before & after completing the Thorsborne Trail on Hinchinbrook Island. We stayed in a small cabin with 2 single beds (would have difficulty fitting a tall person tbh) and a double bed. Our cabin had everything we needed and it was very clean. I do wish there had been some hooks in the bathroom but it's not really a major thing. The staff were fantastic. They were lovely & accommodating. We were able to use the amenities block before our room was ready at the end of our hike which was a godsend. The amenities block & laundry were very clean and had everything we needed. The washing machines/dryers don't take coins, they use a credit card/phone which suited us. We were able to buy washing powder at reception. The park looked really nice & is very well maintained. It was quite busy being school holidays. There's a lovely pool & bbq area. It's a 5min walk to the pub, beach, shop and playground so is in a great location. We really enjoyed our stay here & would recommend it to other hikers...
