DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY HERE. There are plenty of other wineries in the area with way better service than this place who actually value your patronage. My fiancé and I waited at the bar for a good few minutes when we initially arrived before we were finally served when there were three staff members on and only one other man at the bar the same time we were standing there. We were ignored at least three times before we were finally served. The staff members were literally right in front of us and said nothing. We signed up for a tasting and a cheese board and did we regret that. We were waiting at least 10 minutes between each tasting glass being poured and it was as if we were totally being ignored. The workers were walking around appearing to be busy but weren’t actually actively doing anything. There was no sense of urgency or consideration to get back to us after serving other patrons. There was plenty of opportunity for them to come over and pour the next tasting for us but it was like we were invisible. Absolutely disgraceful and so disrespectful. We waited at least 30 mins for our cheese board only for us to tell them not to worry about it in the end. We were both absolutely appalled at the lack of service compared to what we received at other wineries whilst staying in the area. I could not believe how poor it was. Do not waste your time or money here when there are plenty of other wineries in the area that will treat you will respect and value your patronage. I regret that we are staying a night in their accomodation. I really wish we were not giving this place our money nor our time. A terrible end to what has been a fantastic trip in the Barossa Valley and Adelaide Hills. Highly DO...

What did we like?...actually, we LOVED... The serenity, the rain, the sunshine, the wild crazy storm, the magnificent produce available for breakfast, the view, the gardens, the frogs singing in the rain soaked gardens, the friendly staff...

We had booked and paid for these 3 nights away, as a rest before a busy work phase began.

As things happen, the weekend before, we had a family member that needed emergency medical attention, which meant about 1500km driving amongst other things...and by the time we got home, (back to Adelaide) we were SOOO tired!! We made it through the rest of that week, then headed out of town to Macclesfield to REST. Because of the weather (we love storms at the best of times anyhow 😃), we were "stuck" in our beautifully appointed room.

We whiled away the hours, reading, sleeping, cooking, talking, praying, making phone calls to family and medical people and friends, we listened to music, streamed through the smart TV, and repeated it all the next day.

When the sun broke through on a couple of occasions, we walked and talked and laughed, and managed to not get caught in the next downpour.

On one of these walks, when we got to the top of the hill, between the 2 Palm Trees, we realised just how amazingly sheltered our accommodation was...it was SUPER CRAZY windy up there!! ...but THAT VIEW!!! 360° of beauty...you're not wrong.

But most of all, we RESTED!

The produce provided, was locally sourced, and very thoughtfully put together. The kitchenette was more than adequately appointed. The whole place was so clean and lovingly cared for and maintained... buildings, gardens, vineyards and accommodation.

Thank you Longview Winery, for being such...

Attended the Father’s Day lunch today Sept 7th, 2025 after attending last years with disastrous results. We thought as a family to give them another chance but unfortunately it fell way short again. Arrived at 11.30 am per their request and waited nearly 1 hour for the first course. This continued for all courses…about a hour wait on each. First course bread, 1 small arancini ball and the weirdest tasting olive oil dip for the bread. Second course…gnocchi with beef ragu. Oh dear, the gnocchi was tender but pasty and the ragu tasted like chopped silverside in tomato sauce. Third course…Barramundi, grilled spatchcock and sirloin steak caponata. The fish was decent but some of the spatchcock we were served was actually raw. Forget about the steak…..tough, had a hard time cutting into pieces and zero flavour. This course was served with sides of raw broccolini and what would appear as day old baked potatoes. Also, 90% of the food was cold, our family was so disappointed. Now by this time it’s reaching 3.30pm so we couldn’t be bothered with the dessert course. So as the story goes…first time shame on you. Second time shame on us……..there won’t be...

My wife and I stayed one night at Longview on Thursday 2nd Jan 2024 and it was spectacular. Nestled amongst the gardens and vineyards, Longview is as romantic as it is generous; heaps of small, picturesque areas with flowers, sculptures and grass areas. The accommodation was fantastic, where we enjoyed a night in Suite 2 near the main restaurant building. Room was spacious and clean, with a complimentary bottle of white to greet us upon arrival. Shower was amazing, great pressure! The breakfast provisions were spot on for us. The room was very quiet, even with a wedding happening on the same day. TV has Netflix and Disney+ for a temp log in if you need to end your night with an episode of Squid Game! 😬 If there was any room for improvement, as slight as it is, would be a WiFi booster. It's present but in Suite 2 it was very weak. Streaming wasn't interrupted but you couldn't too much on your phone and laptop as sometimes it would dip out. Beautiful location and would definitely stay again.

Magical place for a wedding. As a wedding photographer I spend a lot of time at wineries and wedding venues and I always look forward to heading up to Longview for an incredible day. The first thing you notice when you arrive is that there are vines in every direction, you get a real sense that you are totally detached from the rest of the world. There is a spacious lawn area at the heart of the venue which is ideal for the ceremony and the after ceremony canapés and drinks. When it comes to photos with the couple you are spoilt for choice, there's a gorgeous tree lined dirt road, a selection of vines, winding pathways through the vines, a couple of palm trees atop the hill and loads more. The homestead is a perfect place for wedding day preparation with beautiful light in the master bedroom for portraits. The food and wine is, as you'd expect, first class, and the staff are all super helpful. One of Adelaide's premier wedding venues for a good reason.
